About Mares NEMO Wide 2 Wrist Computer

The Best Interface between Man and the Sea:

NEMO Wide was designed to be Easy-to-Read, Intuitive to Use, Safe, and Reliable. A Large Size Display was one of the Primary-Requirements behind the creation of this product. In order to Optimize Readability in every circumstance, special attention was paid to the Size-and-Brightness of the Numbers, to the Intensity of the Backlighting, and to Maximizing the Viewing Angle. Another key characteristic of NEMO Wide is that it is Simple-to-Use, due to the User-Friendly Easy-Access System with Four-Buttons. The Ergonomic-Design and the many Cutting-Edge Technical Characteristics indisputably make NEMO Wide the Best-Interface between Man and the Sea.

NEMO Wide Computer uses Mares-Wienke RGBM (Reduced Gradient Bubbles Model) Algorithm. The RGBM takes into account the Phenomenon of Micro-Bubbles in order to prevent their formation. In over 10,000 real dives monitored by Dr. Bruce Wienke in the Los Alamos Laboratories, the formation of Micro-Bubbles has been studied and evaluated in order to better understand the mechanism behind how Micro-Bubbles are formed during a dive. Today it is the Most-Evolved-Algorithm for Reducing-the-Formation of Micro-Bubbles without Compromising Dive Times.

The Easy Access Push Buttons allow the diver to Operate the Computer in All Conditions, even when wearing thick gloves. Navigating through the Computer Programs is Extremely-Simple and Very-Intuitive. There are three Special Function Modes of Air, NITROX (Up to 3 Gas Mixtures) and Bottom Time. The NEMO Wide has a Maximum Depth Display of 492' (150 meter), a Memory Capacity of 38 hours, runs on a 3 Volt CR2450 User Replaceable Lithium-Ion Battery, Power Indicator, Back Lighting for Low Light Conditions, has a Plan Mode Display, can be used in both Imperial or Metric Units, Fresh or Seawater Settings, Residual Nitrogen Reset, option to exclude Audible Alarms and "Uncontrolled Ascents", has an Ascent Rate Indicators and is Altitude Adjustable. The latest Version of the NEMO Wide now has a Button Timer Mode with Stopwatch Function and a Resettable Average Depth which is ideal for Technical Divers. The new EAN (NITROX) function allows divers to use up to Three-Different Gas Mixtures during a Single Dive. The Computer-Calculates the Decompression Schedule accordingly, so that you can take Full-Advantage of Decompressing with High Oxygen Concentration Mixes.

The NEMO Wide knows that not all of us who dive are young and in peak condition, it address this with Precautionary Program Settings that allow Individual-Adjustment to more Conservative Dive Profiles if needed. When you do Multi-Level, Multiple Dives during a Single-Day or Multiple Dives over Several-Days you can choose Different-Setting-Levels in order to Adjust-your-Computer to a More-Conservative Dive Profile. The NEMO has Superior Display Readability. In order to offer Easy-to-Read Display Mares produced a Wide Computer Display, with a 170° Viewing Angle, Intense Backlighting and High Contrast. The Computer featuring Illuminated, Oversized Digits with a Mineral Glass Screen which is Scratch-Resistant, Sock Proof and Non-Reflective. Special Attention is paid to Maximize-the-Viewing-Angle, to Eliminate-Angular-Distortion and to always grant the best readability.

The NEMO Wide has an Optional USB Interface for Logging Dives on your PC, (see SKU: MRSPCNMW. The Computer is also Software-Upgradeable over the internet using the DRAK Interface. This feature makes it possible to Download the Latest-Software Developments as Mares creates them, without the need to buy a new computer unit. The NEMO Wide also has Watch, Calendar, Temperature Functions and a Hypoallergenic Rubber Wrist Strap. Smart, Easy-to- Use and Upgradeable the NEMO can do it all. My Nemo completely satisfied me. My friend has these two and three grand computers and the only thing that they do that the Nemo doesn't is switch gases on the fly and have games on a safety stop. I just dove the Oriskany and one guy beside me actually paid more attention to my safety stop timer than his because he could read mine better. I have found the computer to only have one down fall and that is the backlight doesn't stay lit long enough.

Comments about Mares NEMO Wide 2 Wrist Computer:

Great computer but it is most definitely large and in charge. I have small wrists and cannot wear there. Must wear on forearm which is a little frustrating. I do like that the display is just huge though and that everything I need is easily read on one page without scrolling. Overall though I really like it. I haven't heard the alerts yet so cannot comment on that.

I adored this big-screen computer, but it lost function and flooded. There are lots of earlier postings on ScubaBoard and others about this problem. Depressing.

Comments about Mares NEMO Wide 2 Wrist Computer:

This is the second Nemo Wide I own. It´s a great recreational diving computer. The information is clear and reliable (thanks to its RGBM model), the numbers are big enough even for the short-sighted, and its use is very intuitive and easy. You can use it with air, nitrox and as gauge. The battery is user replaceable wich is a plus and the price is affordable for any pocket. In short, it´s a great tool for any serious recreational diver.
