great mask

very comfortable mask. i can wear it all day no problem. its the only mask ive used so i thought the fog was normal. a nice thick spit before you get them wet fixes that for the day. rub it all around the glass then give it a gentle rinse in the water youre good to go.

Great Mask

The feel of the mask is good. Its only that I am big person and the mask is a bit small on my face. I tried it in the pool, leaks a bit as its a bit small but overall it's good.

The X-VU Liquidskin is the first completely new 2-lense mask using Liquidskin technology designed after the X-vision. Beyond the natural comfort provided by Liquidskin skirt, an additional soft silicone part is injected in the nose area acting like an anti-shock bumper. The 2-button buckles are brand new and will be available by the end of the year together with optical lenses. Mares R&D and Design divisions have conducted numerous computer simulation and complex studies on the faces shape. The results are masks which combine great comfort with an incredible field of vision.

Liquidskin is a bi-silicone exclusive technology. Two different types of silicone: a firmer portion for support structure and a softer portion for contact with your face, 45% softer on skin of unparalleled comfort. 270% greater elasticity for a perfect fit. By attaching the buckles to the skirt masks have superior hydrodynamics because the strap fits closer to the head, making this a low volume mask, in addition the tension exerted by the strap acts on the skirt and not directly on the frame reducing the pressure of the frame against the face.

For added comfort the X-VU uses Tri-Comfort Technology a softer material molded to the frame in the area of the forehead and nose. This soft material provides superior comfort during frequent or long dives. By attaching the buckles to the skirt masks have superior hydrodynamics because the strap fits closer to the head, making this a low volume mask, in addition the tension exerted by the strap acts on the skirt and not directly on the frame reducing the pressure of the frame against the face. This low volume light weight mask has a skirt with a double feathered edge for an improved seal, easy to squeeze nose well allows one handed equalization, tempered glass lenses, quick adjusting buckles, with two colors in black silicone. Mask comes with a mask box.

richard` g worth the $$? how is it for clearing, is it nose purge, temp lenses, sizing what else?

Steve S This is a fantastic mask! It has nice large lenses and a very soft skirt. it is a low profile mask which increases your field of view as well. This does not have a purge valve.

KENNETH W The mask is well worth the money in my opinion. It fits my face just fine. It clears quite easily and the nose piece allows easy equalizing. The lenses stay relatively fog free with antifog solution despite being one of the lowest volume masks I've owned. I've tried about 20 different masks in my time and this is by far the best one I've ever used. I'm very happy with my purchase. Hope this helps.

STEPHANIE M My husband has a big giant head and I know he can't wear just any mask and I need a large mask so he can enjoy snorkeling help. What direction should I go when purchasing a snorkel kit?

KEITH H A good fitting mask is so CRUCIAL! I would suggest having your husband go around to local dive shop and test their mask. Any dive shop I have been to (and I'm in Utah of all places to have a dive shop), will let you try their masks out in a pool. Have him swim down and and make sure the mask has a good fit. Splurge on the mask... it will be worth the investment in the long run. I promise. As for a snorkel, I don't see much value in anything too fancy. Mine is from walmart. :) Hope that helps, K

WILLIAM S Stephanie: The Mares Liquidskin Spear Fishing Mask is soft and fits really good. As far as good fit and comfort are concerened, I would highly recommend you give this mask a try.

Shopper WHAT SNORKRL SHOULD I USE FOR THIS MASK IM INTERESTED IN BUYING?

MICAH G I bought a form fitting low profile snorkel made for spearfishing and I hate it. But it depends on what you are going to do with it. If you are fishing day time or early morning with a gun a short low profile spearfishing snorkel is fine I'm in rough waters at night swimming long distances fishing with a sling so I prefer a standard length snorkel with a wider tube. Beuchet I think is the brand. Also I stopped using this mask too. I went back to my frameless oceanic shadow. More comfortable for long dives.

PATRICK O Most snorkels work just fine. I like to use a snorkel clip with mine. Also, because this mask is so soft, using a snorkel that is made of plastic or a hard material tugs on the sides more then normal.

NAWFAL E I would not be a good source for advise on what snorkl to use. The mask on the other hand is AWSOME :-)

KENNETH W I purchased mine with the matching Mares Ergo Dry snorkel. The snorkel is really your personal preference, but I found that Mares products are very well made and fits my face rather well. I would also recommend any of the dry snorkels made by Oceanic as well.

KEITH H I personally am using just a cheap left-over snorkel (wal-mart special kind of thing). I think you definitely get what you pay for, but that said, in my experience a snorkel is one of the least impactful pieces of gear on depth and dive efficiency, and therefor I am willing to go cheaper on the snorkel. Additionally, free diving/spearfishing snorkels are very basic to reduce drag, and I really appreciate things like a purge valve when I am on the surface to make recovery easier. .. which you would never find on free dive snorkels. So the short answer, :) you can get whatever snorkel you want. And if you are concerned about fit or something, any snorkel will fit this mask. Hope that helps.

KENNETH W Mine fit me very well. I think my face would be considered smaller, generally. I am of east Asian descent and the topography of my face is relatively more flat. This mask seemed to fit me better than the 15+ models I was able to test prior to choosing this one. Hope that helps.

MICAH G Not sure how small your face is but I think it should be okay the silicone skirt should form to your face. For short use this mask is comfortable and dont have to worry about flooding but I stopped using this mask and went back to my old oceanic shadow. In my opinion the shadow is way better. When I go fishing I'm out for 5-7 hrs and the shadow is very comfortable for me. Hope this helps.

JOHN K Co- consumer , it's very difficult to define "smaller face" for every person there is a mask, don't give up, it's a difficult task but leisure will refund or exchange no problem, I would order it and use the simple method of placing it on your face and inhaling in order to see if it stays on , Good luck
