About Mares Mission

Mares, has always paid special attention and devotee's its self to ergonomic design. The material used in manufacturing Mares instruments boots, are highly shock resistant elastomer to protect the gauges accuracy, and affords a secure grip in every situation with any type of glove. The compact pressure gauge with its durable brass case and techno polymer lens has a luminesce dial for easy reading in day or night diving situations. Face of pressure gauge is color coded for safe air reserve in a glance.

Pressure gauge has 0 to 5,000 psi readout with a safety reserve 1000 psi color coded in red to allow the diver to know that they are low on air. The 2000 psi to full scale is color coded in blue. The pressure gauges 7/16" UNF neoprene jacket double braided high-pressure hose has a 360° swivel and is 36" (90 cm) long. The compact gauge is 5.2" x 2.8" x 0.9" (132 x 70 x 23 mm), weights 9.88 oz. (280 g). Gauge is nitrox ready to 40% oxygen out of the box.

This very accurate oil filled depth gauge reads depth from 0' to 230' and comes equipped with a maximum depth indicator needle (MDIN). The MDIN is pushed by the gauge depth needle until the diver meets their maximum depth. The MDNI will remain at the maximum depth reached for the duration of the dive to indicate the diver's deepest depth reached during the dive. This feature allows the diver to not record that depth while diving, yet will be available upon surfacing for later calculations for repetitive dives. Depth Gauge is color coded for easy and safe reading at a glance. Depth Gauge has a 0' to 230' readout with a safety red color-coded section from 0' to 30'. The compact console is 5.9" x 2.8" x 1.38" (150 x 70 x 35 mm), weights 22.8 oz. (650 g).

The compass is oil filled for a quick and responsive movement. Dual magnets give faster response and with a maximum working tilt angle of 20°-degree ensures accurate compass headings. A ratchet bezel with compass headings in ten degrees increments and 30°-degree indicator marks. Bezel has twin heading indicators for alignment of compass course, and a double lined lubber line across the compass face. A side window with compass degrees allows gun-sight accurate use when precise headings are required. Compass card is luminescent for low light conditions. The impact-resistant boot has multiple eyelets for attachment of clips or lanyards to keep the gauge close at hand and from dragging over the environment.

I have 2!

I have 2 of these (I liked the first so much, I bought a second for my professional setup). I use these as strict backups for my computer so in case of failure of the computer, I do not have to cancel the dive. With Pressure, depth, and compass all in one in an easy-to-read package, how can you go wrong? When I need a third set for my children, I will buy this again.

Almost killed me....

This is the worst piece of gear I've ever bought, and it sounds like Dan B. and I had the same issue.Every single component broke within 20 dives. The air pressure gauge started reading wrong by about 50 bar in the middle of a deep dive. This led to an out of air emergency (thankfully, I had a buddy). The plastic is low quality, and the compass cracked. Not only is this a low quality piece of equipment that lasted only 20 dives, but it literally put my life in danger! I did not buy it from Le...

Almost killed me....

from Indianapolis, IN, US

This is the worst piece of gear I've ever bought, and it sounds like Dan B. and I had the same issue.Every single component broke within 20 dives. The air pressure gauge started reading wrong by about 50 bar in the middle of a deep dive. This led to an out of air emergency (thankfully, I had a buddy). The plastic is low quality, and the compass cracked. Not only is this a low quality piece of equipment that lasted only 20 dives, but it literally put my life in danger! I did not buy it from LeisurePro, but I am making sure that the word gets out about this, especially since Mares told me to get lost since it was out of warranty by a week or two.

What a piece of crap! Mares

On the 3rd dive bubbles started coming out of the pressure gauge. After getting back to the boat I checked the gauge and the bezel was loose... the bezel and o-ring fell out in my hands. What a piece of crap. And Mares used to be great quality equipment. I called Leisure Pro customer service and was told, "don't worry, you can return it for a refund... unless it has been used." How in how in hell can you tell if an item is defective UNLESS you use it first? So the option is send it in for warranty repair (I don't want a piece of crap like that back again) after only 3 dives, and take who knows how long to get it back (we're in the middle of the summer dive season right now). This gauge was not damaged from use... IT IS DEFECTIVE!

Bought this as a back-up to my computer, for the peace of mind when my computer screen goes blank. I don't have to surface, I can keep diving. Very sleek and comfortable, tucks away nicely while diving.

Glad I bought it!!

Was purchase to replace older Regs. Love the compass works almost as good as my terrestrial compass. Pressure and Depth am happy with as well. Wish it had temperture reading, like my old regs, hense the 4 rating.

great console

I bought this console for my 10 year old son. It's easy to read, complete, and best of all it's compact. Fits his hand well. Can be upgraded with puck computer too!

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
EDWARD M  Bought for diving adventures. I installed my wrist puck in it.
TOM S  came in package deal with mare abyss regs. My buddy got the same but with intagrated dive computer(better)
Shopper  Does this work in night or light light conditions?
RAFAEL F  negative
DOUG E  I haven't done any night dives with it so I wouldn't know. I'm happy with it's performance & would recommend it to others.
MARCIA K  The Mares Mission 3 console has a Luminescent Dial feature allowing an easy read during low light and night dives. (remember: we always carry 2 torches when night diving hence seeing the console is not a problem). As a PADI certified Instructor I prefer the Mares Mission 2 and Mission 3 consoles for myself and my students.
STEVE M  First off, mine has been in for repair 3 times with barely any use and I try my stuff really well... but that's just mine. Filled up with water 3 times so I bought a new one. It does have a glow in the dark feature so u can see it at night but lets be honest - if you aren't bringing a flashlight with you at night for general use and to point to the device you shouldn't be diving ;)
Frank L  Yes, they have a luminescent face.
Shopper  Does it work with Nitrox?
TERESA L  Sorry, i have never used Nitrox. But it is a reliable console.
ALLEN L  Yes, I have used it with nitrox a couple of times and no problems.
BRAD W  It definitely works with Nitrox. I'm pretty sure it's in the specs, and I am assuming it's less than 40% O2. I've used Nitrox on about 100 dives with it and its worked great. The SPG is reliable. And for depth, it is a great back up for lets say if you leave you dive comjputer on a boat and don't realize it until you are in the water. And of course it has a compass. The Mission 1 is nice if you want to streamline things a bit, but the 3 is a good product for the price. Some how the price always seems to go up and it's not a new product. I bought mine over two years ago for somewhere aron $140-160 from Leisurepro.
GERARDO P  It works great with air. Never use it with nitrox. Sorry can't help.
CRAIG C  I read the manual and it does up to 50% oxygen...It says not to switch between nitrox and air...Only use it for one mixture it says...Hope that helps...I found the manual online..Just googled it if u want to read it for yourself....Hope that helps
CYNTHIA H  It does
