I wear a size 7 wetsuit boot, regular Hollis F1s were too big. Will the regular likely fit or likely be too big? Cheers
I would suggest the Medium. If you don't like the fit please call Customer Service at 800-637-6880 and exchange it for the next size through our PFF Guarantee.
Likley fit. See the size chart on the Leisure Pro product page. LP will exchange for you if they don't.
I wear shoes in the 11.5/12 D range, I ordered these as XL and the fit was perfect. I wear these with booties. In my opinion, these conform to a true-size fit. By the way, these are a great set of fins!
Hello fellow diver, I wear size 10 rockboot and I ordered the XL size and the XXL size and tried them both. Superizingly they both fit. The XL size is very tight, and I can see the rubber strap stretching quite a bit, but there is no foot fin flop at all. The XXL's go on a bit easier and the rubber strap is not quite as stretched, but there is a minor amount of foot movement inside the fin, but not so much that it effects me to the point of annoyance. Now,to answer your question, if you are wearing a size seven wetsuit boot, the standard size (even though I have not tried them) may be a bit too large, especially if the Hollis regular size was to big. It is difficult to practice proper finning techniques if your foot is moving around inside the fin pocket. If you have tried the Hollis F1's and you are thinking about the Mares Power Plana, it sounds like you are looking for a tech fin. Every diver goes through this fin dilema when trying to find the right fit. There are a few things you could try. First, you may want to look into the ScubaPro Jet Fins, I know that they have more sizes, another fin is the Turtle, which alot of divers like, be aware, there are two types of Turtles. Both of those fins are kind of tech style with wide sides, but again be aware that those fin types take alot of leg power due to their large size and stiffness, and many divers experience cramping near the end of a dive, which is not good on beach/surf exits. The other thing you could try is to change your boot. A size seven Mares is going to be different then Pinnacle, which would be slightly different then another manufacturer. Ultimately you are not looking for just a fin, you a searching for a fin/boot combo that fits your foot without to much flop. Good luck with your search.
I too have small feet (Size 8) and the regular fits fine for me.
