About Mares Flexa 8-6-5mm Women's Wetsuit

The Flexa family is the highest expression of Trilastic. Flexa uses different thickness for different areas of the body, 100% ultra-stretch high quality neoprene, with unparalleled finish and attention to detail. Suit is equipped with a front zipper with smooth neoprene flap for more comfort and isolation. New rubber tag custom closure and zipper puller. Back Protection System (BPS): an additional layer of neoprene stitched in the back provides additional comfort and thermal protection.

Trilastic concept was born out of intelligence and superior stylistic technology. The concept offers versatility in a wide range of environments and transcends various water temperatures with minimal layering. Too much material in the wrong places can result in pointless bulk and unnecessary buoyancy. The idea is to minimize the thickness in the regions not requiring critical heat retention and making the suit easier to duff and don. Thinner more flexible neoprene, gives you more comfort. Overwhelmingly accepted, the materials for this concept start with a high tech plush material cushioning the skin and generating warmth, superior sealing materials and construction lock in the water that your body warms. A super elastic materials properly placed provide a greater range of movement. This combination of materials, their arrangement in specific areas creates a line of intelligent wet suits.

The BPS takes inspiration from the Mares BCD line. By adding a wide additional neoprene layer in the lumbar region, the diver benefits in multiple ways. The added neoprene adds warmth to a critical area of the body. It also fills the empty space in the back that sometimes allows water to seep and move causing the diver to get cold faster. The added neoprene also adds padding and protection to the back when wearing a heavy cylinder system on the beach or boat deck.

Custom neck closure system allows for an easy customization of the neck fitting. Velcro neck folds in on itself when needed to eliminate snagging of the plush lining or neoprene. Flexa has a front zipper with skin-on-skin zipper seal for superior water seal. Supratex knee pads, protection made of anti-scratch polyurethane not only looks sharp, but is engineered for high strength and protection without compromising flexibility. The linear design moves in line with your body while still guarding this high wear area.

The internal thermo plush lining is soft, smooth, durable and allows increased freedom of movement, guaranteeing extreme mobility. Its refined finish keeps you warmer yet, prevents the suit from retaining water promoting fast drying between and after diving. All seams are triple glued and double blind stitched for superior strength, durability and waterproof seals. The Flexa 8, 6, 5 mm Neoprene Trilastic suit comes in multiple sizes and is black in color.

Great Fit and Warm

Front zipper and flexible material make it easy to get on. It is a little tricky to take off but still doable without assistance. I am 5'6" and the size 12 fit perfectly. It was plenty warm in the current water temperature of 63 degrees (unusually warm right now in Southern California). I intend to dive with it at water temps down to 52 degrees and believe it will be comfortable.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Carol B  Outstanding fit for the contours of a woman's body, soft and flexible in the areas where it needs this most, and the front zip gets me in and out of it very easily. A+ product.
CAMILO S  girlfriend is a designer. she likes the "paneling." the neoprene is also very stretchy and a comfortable fit for her.
Samantha S  Is the front zip comfortable while diving since you are in a semi arched position?
Cathy C  Very comfortable and warm wetsuit. I was out recently in 52 degree waters. Easy to put on, a little tricky to take off over the shoulders.
MIRIAM W  Yes but the top flap came off so now my zipper is not fully secured
DENISE C  IVe never had any discomfort related to the zipper but in fairness, I don't know what you mean by diving in a "semi-arched" position. On land with full gear, I might arch some to counter balance for the weight but while diving, my torso and legs are not arched.
SARAH S  Very comfortable. This suit is so thick, the front zip is not a bother at all.
Carol B  I had the same concerns about fit because I'm broad shouldered, tall and thin but happy to report I didn't experience any tightness or binding in the neckline and shoulders while diving with the Mares Flex 8-6-5 wetsuit. I own all three weights - 8, 6, and 5-4-3 - all are very comfortable. The fit is more soft and snuggly vs. stretchy a the neck; suggest checking the measure from the specs against your neck circumference (mine is 13"). Several diving friends recommended this suit for better 'woman fit' and I agree it's a better all-over fit, stretchier than other suits I've owned; more ample on the length. Also worth mentioning, the front zip design makes the suit much easier to slip on and off.
Michelle B  Dear all. I'm from another country and I will pass a few days in the USA . I would like to buy this wetsuit but I'm worry with the size. I have 5'3'' ft-in and 110 lbs according to the size chart the best size is the 6. Who bought the wetsuit could you help me saying if it is better buy the size 6 or if is better buy the size 4 or 8?
SARAH S  I don't know if 4 or 6 would be the best size. Definitely NOT size 8. I'm 5'5" and weight 135 to 140 and the 8 is the perfect size for me.
