About Mares Flexa 5-4-3mm Women's Wetsuit

The Flexa family is the highest expression of Trilastic. Flexa uses different thickness for different areas of the body, 100% ultra-stretch high quality neoprene, with unparalleled finish and attention to detail. Suit is equipped with a Back Zipper with smooth neoprene flap for more comfort and isolation. New rubber tag custom closure and back zipper puller with leash. Back Protection System (BPS): an additional layer of neoprene stitched in the back provides additional comfort and thermal protection.

Trilastic concept was born out of intelligence and superior stylistic technology. The concept offers versatility in a wide range of environments and transcends various water temperatures with minimal layering. Too much material in the wrong places can result in pointless bulk and unnecessary buoyancy. The idea is to minimize the thickness in the regions not requiring critical heat retention and making the suit easier to duff and don. Thinner more flexible neoprene, gives you more comfort. Overwhelmingly accepted, the materials for this concept start with a high tech plush material cushioning the skin and generating warmth, superior sealing materials and construction lock in the water that your body warms. A super elastic materials properly placed provide a greater range of movement. This combination of materials, their arrangement in specific areas creates a line of intelligent wet suits.

The BPS takes inspiration from the Mares BCD line. By adding a wide additional neoprene layer in the lumbar region, the diver benefits in multiple ways. The added neoprene adds warmth to a critical area of the body. It also fills the empty space in the back that sometimes allows water to seep and move causing the diver to get cold faster. The added neoprene also adds padding and protection to the back when wearing a heavy cylinder system on the beach or boat deck.

Custom neck closure system allows for an easy customization of the neck fitting. Velcro neck folds in on itself when needed to eliminate snagging of the plush lining or neoprene. Flexa has a front zipper with skin-on-skin zipper seal for superior water seal. Supratex knee pads, protection made of anti-scratch polyurethane not only looks sharp, but is engineered for high strength and protection without compromising flexibility. The linear design moves in line with your body while still guarding this high wear area.

The internal thermo plush lining is soft, smooth, durable and allows increased freedom of movement, guaranteeing extreme mobility. Its refined finish keeps you warmer yet, prevents the suit from retaining water promoting fast drying between and after diving. All seams are triple glued and double blind stitched for superior strength, durability and waterproof seals. The Flexa 5, 4, 3mm Neoprene Trilastic suit comes in multiple sizes and is black in color.

love this wetsuit!

The suit arrived in just a few days, the same great service and shipping I've come to appreciate from Leisure Pro.

Love this wetsuit

love this suit for diving in Roatan, Bonaire. Has the warmth needed but it is ready to get on and off.

A high recommend

I love this wetsuit! I got it as a hand-me-down from a friend so I'm not exactly sure what size it was but i would say it was an extra small. I'm 5'3" and small chested; I found it perfect for my body type and it adjusted itself to the curves of my body, including my butt which is on the big side for a girl my size. I dive in caribbean waters and it stays perfectly warm. I used it mainly on night dives or at the end of the day when i started getting chilly after a full day of diving. It's super durable, I can attest to this cause i was wearing it one day when we got pushed into some sharp rocks. Not one single tear or snag.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Would this wetsuit keep me warm in average water temperatures of 63-70 degrees F?
SUSAN W  It wouldn't keep me warm. The coolest the water has been for me is 74 and I could only last 45 min.
Kristi H  Yes, for certain. I surf in mine in water in the high fifties and am warm. It is a great suit!
Cyn D  It is so individual so hard to answer. It was just diving in Bonaire 80 degrees and it suit worked well. I don't think it will be warm enough for 63-70. Wearing a hat will help.
SARAH G  I think everyone is different so hard to say for sure. I bought this as well as a hooded 3-mil vest to use in Galapagos. We dove in 60s, but when it dipped to super low 60s upper 50s I was cold. My husband used a 7mil plus a 3mil hood plus a heated t-shirt and felt good. I run hot though. Hope this helps.
JIMMY S  That all depends on you personally, are you cold or hot natured? Also, depends on how long and how many dives you'll be doing, air temp, etc... On a hot summer day, doing one or two dives in water in the 60's, a 5mm with a hood is good for me... But if it's cool outside, or if I'm diving all day, I prefer something a little thicker.
ELAINE A  For me, absolutely! I am pretty cold water tolerant so it may be to much for me but for the average diver it is a great suit and will keep you warm.
Irene K  Is the chest area flexible? I'm petite (5'1", 103lbs) but busty (32E). Looking at the size chart, I suppose to be fit with size 4. My concern is chest size.
TERESA S  The great thing about Leisure Pro is that they allow you to exchange sizes, usually with no extra shipping costs. I had ordered a size too big and they sent me the smaller one within a couple of days!
MICHAEL R  Yes, all levels were flexible
VERONICA MARIA C  It's rather unflexible since its the 5mm area. I'm a 36 C and bought a size 12, and has plenty space to spare.
Victoria L  I am 5'1" also, but 20 lbs. heavier, somewhat of a muscular build, broad in the shoulders, and have a hard time finding a fit without the arms being too tight. This suit is very flexible and I have no problem with the arms feeling too restrictive. I got it in a size 6. I think you might be OK with a 4; it doesn't seem as tight in the chest as some other suits.
SARAH G  My size 8 was a very tight fitting wetsuit. It most definitely felt like everything was squashed in. However it is pretty, and as I dove it loosen up a bit. Just a bit. I think with your measurements you need to go to your LDS and try on some various styles and sizes. You might consider a hyper stretch, I have one from Henderson and it really stretches and shrinks for a lovely fit.
ELAINE A  Yes, it is fairly flexible
MARY H  There is some flexibility as with any wetsuit but remember it is supposed to fit snugly to keep you warm. I am a DD and fits me fine but can't promise that it will do what you want. The best thing is to order it and if it doesn't fit, return it for another size. I have done that with the LP wetsuits and it is painless to do returns.
Meredith M  Size 6 or 8 for 5'10"/125 lb female? I'd rather have a wetsuit fit my body better than worry about it being perfectly long.
Meredith M  Thanks, Frank! I went with a Size 6, which defies the size chart. The 8 was too big and so it was returned. Size 6 is very comfy and surprisingly long enough!
Frank L  Depends more on your measurements than your weight. Please take your chest and waist measurement and compare to the size chart on the item page.
