Ideal for travelers, well-groomed in every detail:

Cruise Backpack Pro is the flagship of the new Mares Cruise collection. Large and durable wheels, telescopic handle, external fin pockets, spiral zippers, padded shoulder strap, stainless steel rivets, additional beauty case with mirror inside, and nylon cover for added protection. All Mares wheeled bags include rugged and durable constructed wheels. The Cruise Backpack Pro with wheel diameter of 3.5 (9 cm) and tire tread width of 1.2 (3 cm), plus a wide wheel base for stability, can maneuver over streets, through airports, up & down boat ramps and to your dive with no problem. All Mares bag wheels are attached with stainless steel screws for maximum corrosion resistance and durability.

When the terrain gets a bit rough, with little effort this large piece of luggage can be transformed into a comfortable backpack. A zippered pocket positioned at the bag's rear center contains two big and soft shoulder straps with squeeze-style" side-release buckles. In seconds your wheeled bag becomes a backpack. Just put the padded shoulder straps over your shoulders and you can maneuver through the busiest airport terminals, sandy beaches, up or down boat ramps and docks or staircases. Mares' biggest bag is ideal for a long trip with its locking telescopic handle. Hidden in a zippered pocket on the top of the bag this handle, when needed can be extended, making it very easy to pull and maneuver the bag, even when the bag is full of dive equipment. This special telescoping handle zippered pocket also contains an ID sleeve and an additional zippered pouch for identification documents such as a passport or a wallet.

This durably constructed bag is made of strong 600 Denier Nylon and heavy duty PVC, with sturdy spiral zippers and zipper pulls. The detachable pocket is an extremely useful additional bag. Handy as a small toiletry or beauty case ideal for travel or during a tour, just unzip it from the main bag and you can freshen up without dragging the entire bag with you into the rest room, head or shower. Hard bottom grab handle provides a kick-stand" for stable upright positioning when back left unattended. Dual hard rails and strength and rigidity to bags construction. Lower portion and base of bag constructed from a highly abrasion resistant material for added strength and durability of high wear areas.

Compact a lighter load with the top upper and lower compression straps with squeeze-style" side-release buckles and adjustable straps which when cinched and fastened will also relief stress on the main compartment zipper. Plenty of room in the main compartment with an overall bag dimensions of (L x W x D) 18.5" x 12.5" x 31.5" (47 cm x 32 cm x 81 cm) and a volume of 7,811 cubic inches (128 liters). Internal adjustable compression straps are equipped with side-release buckles to secure bag content and prevent shifting of bag content when in transport. Enough room for a full set of cold water equipment or two sets of warm water gear. The main compartment flap has a printed gear check list provided so you won't forget vital equipment when packing. Large and ample side fin pockets with vents for drainage add to the versatility of this strong and durable travel bag system. It's Huge!

Got this dive bag for a recent trip to Saint Maarten. We went via cruise, so no worry about weight. This bag held 2 sets of dive gear(TUSA Plantina BCD's, 2-3mm wetsuits, masks, Fins-TUSA Z-3's, snorkels, boots, regs) for myself and my wife, plus camera, tools, save-the-dive kit. It was heavy, but the wheels made getting from the cruise ship to the dive shop very easy. It wasn't too heavy to lift onto the boat, but it was way over the airline industry's 50lb limit. I would definitely buy ...

Handle came unstitched

After carrying this broken bag around for seven months (long trip), I finally got to send it back. It cost me a pretty penny to do that only to get credit for the bag. It was neither fixed nor replaced. I would not recommend this bag.

Stands up to wear and tear

By

from Mechanicsville, MD, US

I've owned the bag for one year and have taken it on four dive trips. MUCH easier taking my dive gear off the cruise ship and through the vendor market when the gear is on wheels. In the cases where the dive operation is on the beach such as Grand Turk, the backpack straps save the day, and the wheels. I've only come across one dive boat where the bag didn't fit under the seats and therefore out of everyone's way. First bag delivered had a cracked handle support. I provided pictures to Leisure Pro who sent me a shipping label to return the bag and immediately sent a replacement. This bag meets all my needs and then some. After my gear is inside, my wife loves to fill it to the 50 lb airline limit to minimize the number of bags we need to travel with.

Awesome travel dive bag Back Pack Pro

By

from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, US

I just took a cruise 7 (12/24/16) day with this dive bag. I had just injured a lower back left muscle so I could not use my mesh back pack I normally use to transport our dive gear (wife & I) to the dive shop. So I had to use the mares back pack pro to transfer gear (using wheels). On my way to the gangway the elevators were slow as hell so we decided to go down 7 levels worth of stairs. The mares back pack pro was loaded (2 BCD's, 2 sets of Fins, 2 sets of Regulators, 2 skin suits, 2 sets of booties, 2 towels, save a dive kit, 2 sets of mask and snorkels, candy-bars, cokes, go pro camera) and I dragged it down 7 levels of stairs, then onto the tender(s) that took us onto Cozumel, same situation for Belize, and Grand Cayman. This bag is built really well, the wheels and the frame built to last. Zippers are strong and smooth. This is why I may go to a local dive shop to look at dive equipment but I always purchase 90% of my equipment from Leisure pro. The proof is in the pudding:-)

Great bag - Sturdy, but heavy for travel

By

from Long Beach, CA, US

Love, love, love this bag. Goes to Bonaire with me regularly and shore diving in SoCal. However, it is a very heavy bag and too big to take to some of the smaller dive spots like Bimini and St. Eustatius or Saba. Any trip where you have to get on a puddle jumper, this bag won't work. But I do love it and have gotten more than my money's worth out of it in the last several years.

Great (Big) gear bag

By

I took the bag on it's first trip to Bonaire and it made it through the baggage handling department unscathed. It has large wheels so it rolls well on uneven surfaces. The bag is big and if you are flying with it you will hit 50lbs well before the bag is filled. For ground travel it is great. We are able to fit both my wife's and my gear in without any problem. In retrospect, I probably would have purchased something a little smaller that would have been a little better suited to airline travel, but if you want a big, sturdy roller that will fit all your gear you can't go wrong.

ROBERT C  Awsome bag, Gone on many air lines no problem. Need to buy another for my wife. Only travel bag I'd buy.
DOMINI Y  It's big and I need a good bag for international travel.
JAIME W  I have one, and got a gift for someone else.
ART R  Went to a larger bag and instead of hauling 3 can now go with 2. I'm covered by the extra weight via my frequent flyer status or some airlines sport bag rule.
ALAN R  price and size.
BROCK P  Awsome for travel but not very good for every day use. I am happy with mine. Get a mesh bag for every day use to keep things from getting stinky.
PAOLA V  Love this suitcase. Holds everything you and your dived buddy need to dive
David S  Does this product have a warranty?
KEVIN F  This product has a limited warranty of 24 months.
David S  Thank you again. Turns out the phone number at the bottom of the page is phishy. The guy said the system was down so he wanted to send me a Walmart card for $100. Don't do it. Spoke with Mares this morning...rudely said go talk to Leisure Pro. Spoke to Leisure Pro who nicely said send it back, on my dime, and we will take care of it in 5 - 7 weeks. Hmm... not what I would consider the best customer service.
Alya I  Anyone knew what's the difference between the Cruise Backpack pro with the Cruise backpack?
KEVIN F  Aside from some cosmetic differences, the Pro is larger.
