About Lavacore Back Zipper Full Jumpsuit, Women's

Lavacore is a technically advanced fabric, constructed and engineered exclusively for water sports requiring the ultimate in thermal control and superior comfort. This unique synthetic construction closely matches the stretch and movement of a traditional Lycia rash suit, while providing the insulation qualities similar to that of a neoprene wetsuit. Close to the skin, Lavacore's soft internal fleece and high 4-way stretch produces the ultimate comfort-warmth-weight ratio, a true leader amongst any fabrics within the water sports industry.

Wet or dry, hot or cold, Lavacore helps control your core temperature longer, whether worn as a standalone garment, or under your wetsuit or clothing.

OUTER Lycia layer is a 6.35 oz./10.8 sq. feet (180g/sq. m) knitted nylon wrap knit Tricot with water repellant treatment to ensure fast water runoff and anti-wind chill properties.

INTER layer is an impermeable breathable Micro-porous high stretch Polyurethane (PU) film which is wind proof and breathable allowing perspiration to be drawn away in hot conditions.

INNER Fleece layer is a 8.47 oz./10.8 sq. feet (180g/sq. m) 4 way stretch polyester fleece with elastane. It has anti-pill treatment, as well as anti-microbial treatment to reduce odors and eliminate bacteria.

Lavacore is neutrally buoyant so you won't need to add weight to your weight system compromising your weight comfort zone. Full gusset incorporated into the underarms offer exceptional arm movement and stretch and all seams are overlapped during flat-lock sewing to ensure maximum water integrity and strength. Lavacore provides SPF 50+ sun protection and is designed and developed with Oceanic, your guarantee of quality. Women's Full Suit has a back zipper closure with pull tab leash, thumb loops and stirrups to prevent suit ride up when layering under exposure suit and is hypoallergenic.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  I'm a new diver. By reading the previous questions, it sounds like this suit isn't worn alone. It's intended to be a layer? I want to purchase a suit for the tropics.
Petrus S  If you're using it and diving in Asia where the water is warm, typically between 28 and 30 degrees Celcius, using this as a stand-alone suit is more than enough. Enjoy your dives and stay safe.
Alllen M  This suit can be worn alone in the tropics no problem. It is very warm and and flexible. After wearing a lavacore wetsuit I will probably never go back to wearing a neoprene wetsuit. In the winter in the tropics I wear a lavacore sleevelest vest with a hood under the full lavacore wetsuit only when the water temp drops to 77 degrees. Most of the divemasters I work with in Cozumel wear the lavacore wetsuit.
DEBORAH S  It's perfect for the tropics, which is where I wear mine and love it. I previously had a front zip and decided to change so I could get into/out of my wetsuit unassisted. I found the back zips running smaller, so you might want to check sizes carefully. But no worries since Leisure Pro makes exchanges easy if you get the wrong size.
DEBBIE W  I get cold pretty easy so I use this suit for tropical water. Mostly in deeper waters. If you wear a long sleeved rash guard you should be fine. I also have the long sleeved lavacore top and shorts that I wear for shallow dives.
Frank L  It can be worn alone, it really depends on the individual.
DEB B  It is fine wearing alone, similar to a 3mm. It feels tight when first putting it on but gets bigger as it gets wet. The wrists are extremely tight. It is fine alone above about 80 degrees. For colder water I layer.
JD S  It can be worn alone.
JULIE S  I wear this suit alone when diving in the Caribbean. I'm warm in water over 80.
Julie S  I bought this suit in the size indicated by the size chart, and I fall right in the middle of both height and weight. But the suit seems very tight when I try it on, even in the arms and legs. How tight sould this suit be when dry??
Steve S  The suit should be snug when dry, but not tight. You don't want extra material or air pockets in the suit. If you feel you need to exchange for the next size, please call Customer Service at 800.637.6880 and ask for a PFF Guarantee exchange.
DEBORAH S  I found these suits to run considerably smaller than the front-zip ones. It could be the more tailored cut. So I just chose to put a skin on, first, and the Lavacore suit then slipped on easily and felt much better. If I hadn't been leaving right away on a dive trip, I probably would have exchanged it for the next larger size.
DEBBIE W  You don't want it to feel like it's cutting off your air supply or your circulation It will give some when it's wet. I really like mine. I wore it under a 7mil for quarry diving. It does the job of keeping you warm. I wear an 8 to 10 in most things but I got a 14. I am a bit on the busty side.
terry q  What is the equivalent mm thickness of this suit? Is it good for an outer layer?
Joe S  LavaCore has a normal equivalency of 1.5 mm when worn by itself. When you layer these garments under a wetsuit, it will channel the water better and give you more of a 2mm equivalency. Take a 3mm neoprene wetsuit and makes it more like a 5mm. The product does not work properly if you wear it outside of another suit. You would need to layer on the inside.
