It works well

This is a great floatation aid, if you're not a strong swimmer and need to safety net if you become over tired. I plan to keep it for guests. I only needed it once, because the salty water kept me afloat. It is much nicer than the ones offered on the snorkel and dive boats.

feels comfortable and secure

used on a recent trip to antigua, it was just perfect to enjoy the relatively shallow waters in the reefs it made it easy to snorkel for long periods with hardly any effort

Great Vest!

Used this vest snorkeling in Hawaii. I wanted the security of knowing that if my legs cramped, I could inflate the vest for flotation. Fits very close to your body when deflated; saved me two times during the week when my legs cramped up. I am 5'11" tall and weigh 190lbs. Great vest!

Q&A

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

p y  How long is the waist strap? What size of waist will it go around?
MARK R  It will fit a man XL with no problem.
RICHARD W  I purchased the size LARGE which has a waist strap of 36 inches plus 3 inches on the connecting side for a total of 39 inches of strap. But you have to add the vest in the middle which gives a total of 56 inches in circumference of vest and strap at maximum extension. So the short answer to your question is about 56 inches. Of course, the strap is adjustable with a sliding buckle.
DENNIS L  Hi p y, With the waist strap placed in the farthest safe position, it will fit a 55" measurement. This is a great, affordable vest!
MATT K  It's been a while since I've worn mine, but I seem to remember it being quite large. If it helps, I wear a size 32 pants and there's a lot of room to spare in the waist strap
Paul H  What is the outside material of the vest?
MATT K  The vest is made quite well in my opinion! It's constructed of what seems to be a plastic-y nylon. It's quite flexible when uninflated. It folds up flat for storing or for packing. Oh and the air inflation tube is a combination of plastic and rubber.
DENNIS L  Paul, I have owned this vest for four year and used it on six snorkeling trips. It shows no sign of wear and has worked flawlessly. I do not know what the outside material is, but it is very strong and durable. It feels like a strong waterproof material with double stitched seams. I would definitely purchase it again.
Kerry M  Can it be completely deflated for no buoyancy? Hate vests, but looking for something I can wear when I am made to wear a vest or life jacket.
SANDY D  Yes it can be completely deflated, but that just defeats the purpose of wearing it.
Glenn o  Hi - yes, it can be completely deflated. I would not consider this a replacement for a PFD though. I mean, if it was the difference between having nothing and having one of these in the middle of the ocean, I suppose I'd want one. : ) My wife is not a "water rat" and we've used them snorkeling while in Roatan - she really liked the fact she could use a small amount of energy (inflated) and see the marine life.
DAVIS S  I got this vest several years ago and, while I've never had to use it as a true life jacket, have found it both comfortable and easy to dive with. You can make it as flat as a flounder. You will know you have something on but not a problem. I recommend it .
MATT K  Hello, this vest is completely inflatable/deflatable via the affixed air inflation tube. It's a great vest and folds flat for carrying and packing. The item however does NOT suffice as a life jacket or PFD for recreational boating. It is not US Coast Guard approved nor is it impact rated like a regular life jacket is. To inflate the vest, simply depress the mouthpiece while breathing into it. To deflate the vest, depress the mouthpiece while putting pressure on the vest and it will deflate.
BRIAN Y  Yes, it can be completely deflated and compactly folded so you can swim with it unhindered. I like to roll it up/fold it around my waist and if I ever need it I can inflate it.
