About JBL Rotating Long Winged Rock Point 4" Wingspan Spear Point

Let's get right to the point, these tips are designed to punch through even the toughest fish, penetrating thick skin and hard bone. Constructed of hardened 17-4 stainless with a razor sharp finish they'll make short work of just about any game fish. Low-profile, stainless wings are quickly deployed and angled to grab tight and hold on. Sliding wing retainer allows for easy removal of fish.

JBL's patented (#4685239) rotating design allows for 360 degree spin, providing greater holding power and minimizing the chance of your point unthreading from the shaft as a result of a fish "rolling" in battle. With the 4" (102 mm) wing span and 3/8" (9.5 mm) standard profile opens a large hole for easy passage of barbs through the fish, one shot is all you will ever need with this tip. A short-tapered, machine cut point provides enough muscle to withstand rock hits and still punch through skin and bone of even the toughest fish. This tip is ideal for medium to small harder tissue fish and comes in both 6 mm or 7 mm thread size.

Questions about this item:

Grant M  I have a 38 special with a 5/16" shaft. What size do I need 6mm or 7mm?
JON V  Hey Grant, I almost positive the 5/16" shaft has a 6mm thread. If it's the woody special 38 then i have put the 6mm on the stock shaft. Good luck, Jon
JOHN M  Go with the 6mm tip..thats the one i ordered and it hasnt given me problems..is your 38 special the magnum edition?
Grant M  Thanks for the response. Yes, I have the Magnum edition and I love it. I have shot hundreds of fish in the last 5 plus years!
JOHN M  As have I. this tip grabs and holds the fish much better then the 2" wingspan..
JOHN S  Grant The rock tip works fine. I just shot 3 halibut with it last week and it held fine. Good Luck John Morgan Hill California
PAUL L  I bought the JBL8245 5/16" & it fits w/o any adaptor Paul
Shopper  I have a Jbl Magnum xhd 450. What size tip do I need?
LeisurePro S  I believe you will need the 6mm tip.
Shopper  How do I determine the size I need?
LeisurePro S  You need to choose the size that will fit on the threading at the end of your shaft (some have 6mm fittings and others 7mm). If you don't know/can't figure out what size your shaft is, let me know what gun/shaft you have and I can try and help you find the answer.
