I used this last summer in Kauai. It worked awesome, I caught a lot of Kumu and Soldier fish. Taking the fish off was as effecient as spearing them. The flaps worked great and the point pentrated the fish like hot knife through butter. Get one!
Great Spearpoint
By
Big J.
I chose this tip because the stock tip on the jbl 38 special had a smaller wing span. This works great and less fish are pulling off.
Constructed of rugged stainless steel, JBL's fixed Spear points are a perfect blend of durability and performance. Each point is designed for low maintenance, dependability and most important results. Whatever points you choose if it's from JBL you know you're getting your money's worth. This Fixed Bullet-Nose 4" (102mm) wing span hardens spring stainless steel point maintains excellent cutting edge for extra easy penetration.
Point is mounted on a fixed bushing and its 3/8" (9.5mm) profile opens a large hole for easy passage of barbs through the fish. Wing retainer allows for easy removal of fish. For all sizes of fish, economical multi-purpose point comes in both 6mm or 7mm thread size.

Need a tip for my JBL polespear. What size?
ALEX B
All JBL spearheads are universal fit and interchangeable. Most other manufactures spearheads are interchangeable as well.
Sam S
All JBL polespears are 6mm male threaded and as such any 6mm FM threaded spearhead will be compatible. We recommend using the Paralyzer (845) or barbed Paralyzer (846) spearheads with polespears.

Will this fit onto the JBL breakdown polespear? Or is this intended just for spearguns?
MARCO A
jbl uses 6mm threads on all spearguns , the breakdown pole spear is no exception so the this spearpoint would be compatible to it...
PHILLIP L
To answer the question, the #822 will fit your pole so long as the threads on the pole spear match the threads on the tip. Simply match the pole spear threads to the tip threads.
Are the threads on the pole spear standard or metric threads?? Are the metric threads 6mm or 7mm?? JBL should be able to answer these questions.
As an underwater hunter with over forty years experience, I can tell you that the JBL #822 is an excellent choice for spearguns and the JBL pole spears as well. It is my favorite tri-cut style tip, and the one that I use the large majority of the time!! This tip works well on fresh and salt water fish.
The point, along with the three cutting edges on the #822 will easily penetrate most any fish that you are willing to tackle with your pole spear.
Should you happen to miss your target and blunt the end or dull the cutting edges of the tip, you can easily re-sharpen the tip and edges.
Keeping the tip and the cutting edges sharp will make a big difference on the performance of your pole spear.
I hope this info is helpful.
Good luck on your uw/hunting adventures.

I am not sure if it will fit any pole spear ( depends on the thread pattern of the pole spear ). I do not like to change spear tips from my pole spear to my spear gun as you risk the spear tip coming off from wear changing it often. I use a little medium locktite on the thread to keep the tip from coming off and remove them at the end of the season to clean them. Hope this helps.

Just check size but I believe 6 mm is what you want. 7 mm used on larger guns. I currently use a Ray Odor polespear which is 6 mm.

All JBL tips will fit the JBL polespear.
RYAN B
It fit on a polespear for me. Not sure about the breakdown one though.
