Comments about Jbl Woody 38-Special Gun 43" 6W38E:

One of the power bands broke on the first stretch. Leisure Pro estimated it could be 5~7 weeks replacement time after they received the defective part back. AND They had the replacement band in stock. I bought 2 and went fishing the next weekend. Between Leisure Pro and JBL, both provide terrible customer service on an item that shouldn't break on the first pull of the band.

    Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
CHRISTOPHER H  Loved my JBL D7, but was looking for a little bit quieter gun for a stealthier approach. This gun did a great job. It has a bit less of a punch than the D7, but upgrading the bands fixed the issue.
Shopper  Is the 44" measured from the tip of the spear to the butt?
JEFF H  The JBL 38 special elite woody that I am using is 42 and 5/8 inches from spear tip to butt.. For use in kelp, rocky structrue, and shelves; it is the best spear gun, period. If you are working open water get the same rig, only bigger. I prefer bands with rope over wire.
Shopper  what distance the shaft goes?
STACIE L  Mmm, I've shot it with good accuracy about 10 ft? I couldn't say any farther than that. The line the shaft is attached to is only 15 ft . I hunt at close range .
