This is my first large spear gun and so far it has yet to fail me. I originally thought I would need three bands but after a recommendation from a friend I went with this gun and it's two bands. My friend was right, I have used this gun in fresh water ranging from 53 to 80+ degrees Fahrenheit and it has always performed well (shooting large carp, some small gar, and Tilapia). When in close quarters or highly vegetative areas it can be a little long and hard to maneuver(as to be expected) I am planning on taking it on a trip in the Gulf in Aug and will let you know how it goes.

OK if you only want it for a short while

buy the cressi commanche not this gun...the trigger freezes
