This is a very bright light. I wanted something that I could use for daytime use for illuminating cracks and crevices in the reef and on wrecks and signal other divers as to what I'm looking at, and this works perfectly for that. It is also very bright at night and could easily be used as a primary light.

I'm split on the magnetic switch though. I found it beneficial to have the magnetic slide switch when operating the light in one hand and a camera in the other during the day. I would switch the light on and off as needed to peer into dark places and use the light to allow the camera to focuse. The swich proved useful in these situations.

When not actively using the light, it stays clipped to a D-ring and secured to my shoulder strap with a piece of bike inner tube. I found the light would sometimes switch on by itself upon entry into the water due to the ease of movement of the magnetic switch. I had to reach down and physically feel the position of the switch after entry to make sure it hadn't accidentally switched on.

The light is very sturdy and feels well built.

OK, this is a nice, compact light. Took it on a liveaboard dive trip. While I had it, I was pleased with its performance. It doesn't provide as much light as the bigger, pistol type lights but for daytime dives, it was excellent for peeking into dark areas.

The only problem with it is there is a small piece that the lanyard is laced through. This is screwed into the butt of the light. This piece tends to come unscrewed releasing the flashlight to the depths below. In this case, that was about 200-300 feet of water. Since I bought 2 of these, I checked my wife's light, as well. Both were clipped to our respective BCDs. Sure enough, hers was loose, too.

Advice: Good light but check the lanyard screw on a regular basis.

A light you can count on, bright beam focused nicely, used on three successive dives in Puerto Rico Feb 2014. Nice for searching in nooks and crannies.

solid build is just like that of my wider angle torch, only with a more concentrated beam. great for night dives, as a primary or back-up light, or for looking into dark spots on a wall or under reef ledges during the day.

Comments about Tovatec by Intova IFL660 300 Lumens Torch:

For the price, this is a well-made light for a backup or to carry for day-time use when needed. The light does have a distinct hot spot.

The light does work with rechargable batteries; however, I am not seeing anything like 8-hour burn time -- more like 1.5 hours. This is not necessarily a negative for my intended use; just FYI to prospective buyers. Note that the light just goes off as it drains the batteries -- it doesn't get dimmer. You can get a bit more burn time by turning it off and then back on.

            Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
AL C  Best small light , in my opinion, on the market. Very bright and light. Fits in the BC pocket and you never know it is there. I use it in dark caverns when taking video. It is less cumberson than a larger haevy light. I do have my UK attached to my BC for my main light source.
JAMES J  Hi. Has anyone found rechargeable batteries for this light that last more than an hour? I have two of these. They're great, small lights and have lasted for over 100 dives but I only get 40 - 45 min burn time on Tenergy rechargeable batteries. My night dives last well over an hour, often 1.5+. I appreciate the comment about just using regular batteries, but I would have to carry a dozen or so.
WEDNESDAY S  No, I only use regular batteries. Duracell regular batteries last me a long time.
Joe B  Is this light 300 lumens or 220? The title says 300 but the description says the LED is 220 lumens.
JOHN B F  its was Great while it worked, looking for Lobster and Grouper under some 15ft ledges off Vero 80-100 stuff, but Switch has stopped working , got one good year out out of it !
