About Hawkeye by Norcross Hand Held Depth Finder

The Hawkeye by Norcross Hand Held Depth Finder, Temperature and LED flashlight has automatic range and sensitivity, which delivers uninterrupted depth reading from 2.5' to 200' (0.8 to 61 meters) in 1/10th precision. It gives air and water temperature readings to the nearest 1/10th degree. The fish indicator displays fish in the sonar beam, and adaptive software programming, minimizes false readings. Its easy touch user interface gives one-touch access to depth and temperature readings. The shoot-thru technology, allows readings through ice or boat hulls, so you can tell what is swimming down there. The flashlight has a waterproof battery compartment, for 4 x AA batteries (not included).

The depth and temperature are displayed in both imperial or metric (Ft/°F or M/°C). The LCD display is completely glare-free with soft glow backlighting, which allows viewing in any light condition. The high intensity LED flashlight has 4 interchangeable lens colors and provides an emergency SOS signaling mode if needed. The flashlight provides 20 lumens of brightness. The transducer frequency is 200 kHz, with a beam angle of 25° degrees. The depth finder has an operating temperature of 0° to 122°F (-18° to 50°C). The depth finder measures (L x W x D) 7" x 2" x 2") 177mm x 50mm x 50mm) with a display window measuring 1.6" x .75" (40 mm x 19mm) The depth finder comes with a friendly color coded operation manual, free access to a 4 hour online technical support center and is covered by a 24 month limited warranty.

Comments about Hawkeye by Norcross Hand Held Depth Finder, Temperature and LED flashlight:

    "Depth Range 2.5' to 200' (0.8 to 61 meters"

That means it will read to 200', the unit is only waterproof to 3' so this is for use on the boat, not a handheld side scan sonar for limited viz diving.

It's easy to use however if you want water temps let the unit hang over the side in the water for the temp to settle or you'll just get the housing temp like your dive computer gives you when you first get in.

The light is plenty bright for deck use.

I'll be using this to map new dive sites and as the depth finder and deck light on my sailboat

Warranty repairs are fast, my unit had an issue. Norcross sent me a UPS label and I had it back in 10 days.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

    Questions about this item:

Ingrid K  Is there another attachable device to attach to diver/ person so to pick up the object if searching location? Thanks
ROBERT H  Nope - simply sends out sonar waves and measures distance by time it takes for sound to reflect back. Large objects (like people or schools of fish) will reflect the sonar back (if the depth finder unit is pointed directly at their location) showing they are closer than the bottom.
