I am a 5'8 1/2" and 112 lbs 55 yo female, always cold. Swimming in a chlorinated pool for spinal rehab. This vest makes the difference between "just can't stand it" to "still cold but bearable". I can now say that after wearing this vest in the indoor pool all season, it is still as good as new, the seams are fine, zipper is fine, nothing has deteriorated. I do rinse it well after each swim. The only problem I have is it binds under the arms a little doing breast stroke, and that may be du...e to my tankini underneath, not sure. Anyway, if you are always cold and need a vest for indoor swim, it helps quite a bit and I would definitely spend the money again. Also my swimsuit is black and and the vest is black and nobody looks at me like I'm strange when I wear it, that was a pleasant surprise.
I purchased this vest for a trip to Bonaire and it was just the ticket. It kept me warm and comfortable, wile wearing a dive skin.
There is no better way to boost warmth than to add a vest to your exposure protection gear. Wear it with board shorts in tropical waters or layer it with any type of full-length suit for cold water diving. Divers seeking a great value will appreciate Thermoprene's balance of performance and price. The material combination delivers greater flexibility and improved features not found in standard neoprene wetsuits, yet at a reasonable cost, perfect for the cost-conscious buyer. Thermoprene is crafted from a high-quality neoprene and a low pill fabric. It has 75% more stretch than standard neoprene, so while it is not as flexible as Henderson's Thermoprene Pro or TherMAXX lines of products, it still boasts significant comfort characteristics. The 180 Degree stretch Thermoprene is noticeably easy to don, pulling over the shoulders and around the torso with less huff and puff than standard wetsuits. Also, the fabric's exterior stands up extremely well to the wear of BC straps and weight belts with its pill/abrasion-resistant exterior laminate.
This 3mm Zipper Vest has seams that are glued and sewn, which seals off stitched areas and drastically reduces water entry. Front zipper for easy donning and doffing. Each Henderson wetsuit benefits from five decades of design experience. The Thermoprene cut allows for an optimal fit while visually enhancing the diver's physique. Creature comforts include Spandex trimmed. Flexibility, comfort and core warmth are all hallmarks of the Thermoprene Vest, which is now available in an easy-entry, front-zip design. Wear it alone to prolong your water time in tropical waters or pair it up with a full suit to increase core warmth in cold waters. The heavy-duty front zipper makes getting into this vest easy on the joints and layers seamlessly with back-zip suits or full-length john. Vest is black in color and available in multiple sizes.

Thanks!

I have a Henderson 5 mm full suit in size 10. What size vest would best fit over it for extra warmth? Thank you.
PATRICIA B
I would guess a 12 or 14
ROBIN K
I also have a Henderson 5mm suit in size 10. I am very small framed and very athletically built- very lean but I am 34DDD in the chest and have use a size 14 vest. It depends on your but size but I would recommend sizing up since this vest runs small. If you are a D cup I would get a size 12. I also wear the vest over my 3mm. It's very close fitting and keeps you toasty warm.

Thank you for your response. I am a 34DD but not very athletically built anymore. Lol Haven't been to the gym in a while. Would a 12 still be sufficient in that case, do you think? Want it to be snug but not too tight. One lady suggested I put it under my 5mm but there's no room for that! Lol
ROBIN K
Hi Vicki. I'm actually a 34DD-34DDD so if you're a 34DD I would definitely recommend getting a size 14 rather than a size 12. I had a size 12 and had a small 'revision' a couple of years ago. I had to size up to a size 14 and it is pretty snug. I just tried my size 14 on over a tank top and it is very snug. I'm 5'4 and 125 pounds. You'll be super squeezed if you get the 12. Good luck. We leave for a diving trip to Cozumel on Saturday. Can't wait!

For extra warmth, I’d wear the vest under my wetsuit.
RICHARD M
go up at least two sizes.

Which size to order? I am size 20 bust and size 22 hips. I just want to be able to zip suit up and don't care if it doesn't stay down on hips.
LAUREL L
I wear a 10 but I ordered a 12 in this and it fits fine.

I'm not sure what size you should order, but this vest runs small. I own several Henderson wetsuits of various thicknesses and always order an 8, I did the same with this vest but it was too small, I had to get a larger one. You could order two sizes then send back the one that doesn't work, or try one and exchange if needed.

Hi I am female with chest size 34inches and waist 29inches. However I have very thick muscular arm and am afraid the armhole would be tight as I would like to wear the Henderson 3mm zip vest over my lavacore L/S hooded shirt. Which size should I get? Or should I get the man's size instead (which sometimes I do have to buy man's shirt due to my muscular arm? I read from the reviews the vest runs abit small. Thanks.

This vest is for a more flat chested type. Small frame. 101 lbs. Am basically straight as a plank 32-33 chest Waist 30. Scrawny arms at approx 31 cm and I'd like to think started broadening my shoulders slightly with regular swimming lessons but vest very comfortable. I began wearing vest over my 3 mm shorty very easily then when shorty got a bit looser I wore vest UNDER the shorty. I suggest get it and the male version and if doesn't fit return. Love this vest. I waited for a sale and even got a second one. Tried so many vests this one is perfect for my small chest.

I was wondering if the arm-holes will get bigger with increasing size? Might sound silly, but it seems to be a problem with my other Henderson products!

Sorry I can not answer this as I gave this to my mother for the swimming pool exercise. She did say that the bottom part of the suit floats up with out having a crotch strap. Probably would not be a problem as a diver as we are generally horizontal with weight belt on...
