About Henderson Thermoprene 8/7mm Semi-Dry

Henderson's 8/7mm Front Zip / Hood attached Semi Dry Jumpsuit. This single piece hood attached suit is designed for divers who want the warmth of a dry suit without the hassles. Constructed from 100% Thermoprene 8mm nylon II neoprene with 7mm Thermoprene flex panels, this suit is the warmest in the Thermoprene line-up. The entire suit is double glued and double blind stitched for dependable performance in the most unforgiving environments.

Divers enter the suit from an easily accessible front zipper opening which eliminates the need for assistance when donning the suit. An integrated water barrier helps eliminate water entry thru the zipper while keeping the suit in position prior to donning the hood. Double layer zippered ankle cuffs provide a skin to skin seal when worn with Henderson's Insta Dry boots and double layer zippered wrist cuffs are nearly completely dry when worn with Henderson's Insta Dry 5 finger gloves or sealed Dry Suit Gloves. A skin face seal surrounds the hood and Henderson's flow vent helps channel trapped exhaust from the hood. Durable and flexible Freedom Flex knee pads complete the package of this Cold water Semi Dry wetsuit. The suit rubber utilizes limestone based polychloroprene reducing the dependency on oil and oil derived chemicals for a more environmentally friendly manufacturing process. Suit is available in multiple sizes.

Very Good Semi-Dry Suit

I bought this suit for diving the Bonne Terre Mine in December. The water is 58 degrees year round. I used the semi-dry, 3mm gloves, and 5mm boots. The dive was almost an hour long and I was never even chilled. Other people were freezing. This is a great suit, it does let a little water in near the zipper when you first jump in but i never felt any water enter the suit thereafter. We are planing to dive a spring fed local quarry next month with a water temp of 45. I hope the suit will off...

Good product, but need some improvements

After 1 hour you start feeling cold, you must improve the zipper locks

Great WETsuit, terrible semi-dry

By

from Toms river, NJ, US

After trying to get a scubapro semi-dry and having to separate orders cancelled on my by leisurepro, and on a tight budget timeline for needing a semi-dry I ordered the Henderson semi-dry at the recommendation of leisurepro staff. I'm no stranger to semi-dry wetsuits, and this is no semi-dry. On my first dive the entire suit flooded. The zipper didn't just leak, it poured water in. And it did so at a depth of about 12 feet. I expected the wrist and ankle seals to let some water in, they did and that's the nature of semi-drys. The fitment at least for me is awful. For an XL I'm 6'1 athletic 240#, the torso fits perfect and the length of the arms and legs are great but they are way too tight. The suit itself is warm, I was almost too warm in 50 degree water which is awesome but this is in no sense of the word dry.

Hood needs work

By

from 98370, WA, US

I was excited to dive this suit because my others don't fit very well and I was looking forward to having one that did. When it arrived I was so excited that I put it on and went diving. I didn't realize until I was at the dive site that the hood and front bib made the upper part of the suit uncomfortable. I fit all measurements for a Large suit, but the chest wan't wide enough for me and the shoulders felt too narrow as well. Because I dove it without checking the requirements of the return policy, it looks like I am stuck with it.

Better have the right body proportions

By

from Santa Rosa, CA, US

This suit feels thicker than other suits with the same thickness. I felt like a stay puft marshmellow man. I'd imagine though that this suit is very warm in cold water. The biggest problem for me is the hood. I was able to get into the suit with relative ease, but the hood was difficult to get on and it was very uncomfortable. I love Leisure Pro's return policy. I found what works best for me is to get a suit with a separate hood. Must be my body proportions. I think this would be a good suit if you can fit comfortably into it.

Excellent

By

I purchased this suit for my oldest son. In compare to his previous 7 mm semi dry suit this one is significantly more flexible and weights significantly less. It's more stretchable. We didn't tay is at water yet but it's look excellent. Its a good return on my money. I am going to buy additional one for my younger son. I am really recommend this suit.
