Great wetsuit

By snupa

This is a great suit. I'm 6'4 190lbs and got a Large Tall that fits me really well. Used it a couple of times in colder waters and worked out great. However, I would not recommend this for longer periods when diving below 70F.

Great for plus size ladies.

I'm reviewing this before I've worn it in the water so this is just to help with sizing. I wear a size 14 clothing. I'm between the W1 and W2 sizes. My bust and hips fit W2 but waist W1. I went with the smaller size because I couldnt find a reaaonably prices W2 and after reading reviews saying it was very stretchy. I'm glad I did. It's snug the way it should be without any gapping. I have large arms so I worried about that but the sleeves fit just fine. My bust is larger than the size chart b...

Divers seeking a great value will appreciate Thermoprene's balance of performance and price. The material combination delivers greater flexibility and improved features not found in standard neoprene wetsuits, yet at a reasonable cost, perfect for the cost-conscious buyer. Thermoprene is crafted from a high-quality neoprene and a low pill fabric. It has 75% more stretch than standard neoprene, so while it is not as flexible as Henderson's Thermoprene Pro or TherMAXX lines of products, it still boasts significant comfort characteristics. The 180% stretch Thermoprene is noticeably easy to don, pulling over the shoulders and around the torso with less huff and puff than standard wetsuits. Also, the fabric's exterior stands up extremely well to the wear of BC straps and weight belts with its pill/abrasion-resistant exterior laminate.

This 5mm suit is made with uncompromising quality. The suits have seams that are glued and sewn, which seals off stitched areas and drastically reduces water entry. In the full-length jumpsuits, there is a self-sealing spine pad over the zipper to further limit water exchange and to help ease the discomfort of dive tanks. Down below, Freedom Flex kneepads provide a super-tough exterior with great mobility. Each Henderson wetsuit benefits from five decades of design experience. The Thermoprene cut allows for an optimal fit while visually enhancing the diver's physique. Creature comforts include a spine pad and adjustable collar. Suit has a #10-YKK back zipper with zipper tab leash for easy donning and doffing. Suit is black/blue in color and available in multiple sizes.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Landon K  Does this have zippers on both the ankles and wrists? If so, does it have a seal underneath or does the entire cuff zip open? I am looking for one that zips open to make putting it on and taking it off easier.
LENI C  Mine is an old one, but no zippers on ankles. Great wet suit though.
Brigitte C  No, there is not zip on wrists or ankles. The only zip is the big one in the back.
Shopper  How much does this wetsuit weigh?
Mario C  about 3 lbs in size 10
Pam W  Does this suit have feet?
WANDA M  No
LAUREL D  No, it does not have feet. It is however, very comfortable.
RANDON D  No, it doesn’t.
Heather H  No
ALISON W P  no. I wear it with booties.
Diva D  Can this style of wetsuit be used for surfing as well?
PHIL M  Am not a surfer but believe that this suit would be ideal. This suit is outstanding.
ADELE B  The suit is pretty heavy duty and would be great if the water temp is under 60 degrees Fahrenheit. I used it for swimming in the cooler months and it kept me toasty warm.
LEISA C  This is a great wetsuit. It can be used for surfing if the water is on the chilly side. otherwise if you are doing warm water surfing use the 1.5 mm Have fun
SHERRI L  I use mine for scuba diving but I don't see why it wouldn't work for surfing? It's very warm and comfortable. Way easier to move around in over my 7mm.
Diva D  I was wondering if this wetsuit would work for surfing ?because I desperately need it to
ANNE S  I'm not sure how good an answer this is but...I have a 5 mm henderson suit for scuba diving that has stood up very well and kept me warm in water temps in the mid 70's. My 5 mm Henderson is not made of the Thermoprene material, but I have another, 3 mm suit that is Thermoprene. That material makes t's so much easier to get on! I think the combo here of a 5 mm suit made with the Thermoprene will give you the warmth and ease of on/off that you are looking for. It looks like it's on sale too!
JAMES W  Only difference is a smooth patch on the front to limit suit abrasion from the board. Up to you may not last as long. I use a surf wet suit for diving never had an issue.
YAN G  It is somewhat stretchy, but the Hyperflex suits are better for surfing.
MEI-HWA F  I don't know why it would work for surfing. It keeps me warm in 70 degree water when I scuba.
Diva D  Thanks for your reply but it needs to be very flexible particularly in the shoulder area
