The hooded vest goes on / off really easy. I like the built in vent on top of the hood. The 5/3mm works great with the 7mm full wet suit. I am diving Southern California waters and last dive was 55F at 61' and overcast. I was very warm. There was no perceived leaks through this setup during the dive.

I was talked into switching from a Henderson hood to the one piece hood and vest. The Henderson was the only one that fit right. It did not pull my head into my shoulders like the 4 others I had tried. I wear the 5/3 under my Henderson full semi dry 5 MM suit. We dive in Lake Champlain where the water can be 75 on top and 46 below 50-feet. This combination is easier to use than a full 7 MM semi dry suit. I have used it as a stand alone for shallow dives and it is very useful.
