Best Piece of Gear I Own

I'm a NorthEast wreck diver -- and this suit is the envy of everyone on the boat diving in Dry Suits. It is a flash to put on and take off -- and wearing a lava core liner underneath, I'm as warm (or warmer) than everyone else during deco. This suit is awesome. You'll never want to dive in a dry suit again. *Note -- have NOT tested this below 40* water. But at 43 degrees, I was still incredibly warm and comfortable.

Wetsuit good - zipper is junk!!!

A very disturbing trend with exposure suit manufacturers: to save a buck they're using sub-standard zipper products (in this case "PK") They are not YKK!!! The PK's are junk. If you're lucky it'll hold, if not, forget it. Have recently seen 3 new suits (an Xcell and 2 Hollis's) with zipper failures - all PK junk! Make sure to check brand of zipper before buying any wet/drysuit. You want YKK!! Have also received this recommendation from 2 different wet/drysuit repair techs.

Bad quality zipper

By

from Lima, Lima, PE

Suit is very comfortable, flexible, true to size, easy to wear and warm enough, but has two issues, Zipper do not close properly at the end of the path, wich allows to water get into it freely. Other than that the pockets closing top are just ok, construction is a bit cheap,

Garbage

By

Used to use Excel but blew out to many chest zippers last year. I own a small dive company with 9 employees. I buy my guys new suits every year and have purchased over 100 Excel suits over the years. They switched to a cheap zipper and we had to many problems and lost days of work because of it. I decided to switch to Hollis neotek 8/7/6 and purchased a suit last week for myself before I ordered suits for my guys. On my SECOND dive with the suit the zipper blew out. The suit fits terribly and on top of that they use cheap PK zippers instead of the much better quality YKK zippers. Excel used to be a great suit but they now use the same garbage zippers as Hollis. Nothing worse then a cheap zipper in an expensive suit. I won't be buying any more suits from Hollis. My search for a quality wet suit goes on unfortunately. I've been diving for 28 years and have never had a problem with zippers until last year. STOP WITH THE CHEAP ZIPPERS.

Excellent suit...zipper, not so much...

The Neo-Tek is an excellent suit...having said that, Hollis missed the boat on the zipper. Even with the inner dam. the poor quality zipper allows flooding amounts of water to enter the suit The suit really needs a T-Zip water-proof zipper

The BEST !!!!!!!

By

First 3 dives today with this suit for me ---beyond words. This is one incredible piece of equipment. What I have read and seen is really true. This has got to be the best suit EVER! Much has been said about how warm people stay in the coldest water----all true, but what not everyone mentions is how quickly this thing dries and warms up the person in between dives. It is literary like a heater " turning on " in between dives. It warms you up and then you're ready to go again and again. Truly --SEMI DRY---I felt the center/ core of my body warm and dry the whole time. It is a pleasure to put and super easy to take off. Provided that a person dials in just the right sizing ----the person will not want to take it off. I was sad to take it off --LOL --and already look forward to the next weekend. I think I found my winter skin. This is it.

Excellent protection. Used it for diving in 54 degree water at 100ft. I did not feel cold at all.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Dave G  Hi... I'm 5'7 , around 156 lbs.. 32 waist... I also may want to wear something underneath.. perhaps a 2 mm shorty or something for extra warmth.. I'm reluctant to go with the small... I think the medium would be better.... also I currently dive 7mm John.. 7 mm step in jacket.. 9 mm hood... 2 mm socks and 7 mm boots.. often with a 2 mm shorty under everything.. with my current rig I use 38 lbs of lead... I am assuming this suit will require less lead but where it is semi dry maybe I'm wrong?
KEVIN F  Correct. If sized properly, very little water will enter the suit, thereby making it warmer than standard 7mm suits.
Dave G  And the lead (weight) requirement compared to 7 mm 2 piece?
ROBERT T  This is a semi-dry suit. Very little water will get in if it is sized right. You really won't have to wear anything underneath. Just add socks and gloves and you are good to go! I only wear a thin dive skin under mine and that is just so I don't rip out my body hair slipping it on and off.
Shopper  I'm 5'10", 180lbs with an athletic build. Waist 33", chest 41". I'm debating between medium-large and large. According to the size charts I could fit in either one. I know I don't want too much room in the suit, but I'd like it to fit very comfortably. Any suggestions?
CHARLES T. K  Go large you may want to layer when diving in colder water or longer dive's
JOHN M  I would suggest the smaller of the 2. Like you said , you want it snug and it will stretch over time. Leisure pro also has an excellent return policy if it is too small. Good luck.
GRAHAM B  I am 5'8" and 180lbs and use the ML. The Large would be way too big for me.
Matias V  Hello, I'm seeing the price of this suit at $319.95, but when I add it to the cart, it turns into $449.95. Which is the correct one? Because if it is $319.95 I would really like to move forward with the process and buy it. Thank you.
Timothydean T  Be care doing business with this outfit. they have overcharged me before and their shipping can be very slow this time of year.
CHRISTOPHER T  Call them and you will get the price 319.95
