About Hollis Signal Marker Buoy

The Hollis Signal Marker Buoy (SMB) is a great Safety Devise that all Serious Divers carry on Every-Dive. The SMB is the Smart-Way for a Diver to Mark their Location when making Safety Stops, completing mandatory Decompression-Stops and Signaling the Boat if they Surface a distance away from the Boat. The Hollis SMB is Bright-Orange in color for Easy Recognition from a distance.

Buoy is a Closed Cell Design made from Durable 300-D Polyester material with Radio Frequency (RF) Welded Seams. The SMB is equipped with an Oral Inflation and Quick Dump Valve for Total Control of the Devise. The Hollis SMB also has a Sturdy Nylon Webbing Strap Loop with a Stainless Steel D-Ring for attachment to a Reel or Anchor Line along with a Wrist Lanyard for Hand-Held Use. Buoy is covered by a 12 month limited warranty.

JAN P  The closed cell means that it cannot be filled from the bottom via air vented from a regulator. It must be filled by either disconnecting your LPI hose from your BCD or by oral inflation. Some people (Tech diver) like to be able to use the vent from their primary reg to inflate the SMB as it conserves gas by using the exhaled air, this cannot be done on this type of SMB. Orally inflating an SMB requires a person to remove their air source from their mouth and some schools of thought believe this to be a risky practice (especially with novice divers)
