Pros

  • Easily moved
  • Solid Velcro Closure

Cons

  • none

Best Uses

  • Can Hold A Lift Bag
  • Computer Cover In Transit
  • Weights Duh

I've used these pockets on a CCR to dial in weight and trim. Also use them on a standard BC to hold a lift bag in a secure location out of my way. I use another one as a cover for a technical dive computer while in transit so the cover doesn't get scratched. This style of pocket locks the velcro down around any 2" webbing strap (it doesnt have to slide through the end of the strap). That makes it very easy to mount anywhere and move or remove easily in the field. I prefer velcro to plastic buckles underwater, much easier to open/close and no failure points.

Very Useful

Pros

  • Compact easy to use

Cons

  • none

Best Uses

  • Ballast Adjustment
  • Trim adjustment

These are great for making trim adjustments; I have used one on a tank strap to counter-weight a pony tank, and two to adjust trim when using my warm water jacket type BCD. I also put them on my weight belt to adjust ballast when, for example, I am using a new undergarment with my drysuit; allows quick and easy change of weight.

Similar products seem unnecessarily large and use Velcro closures. I prefer the zipper on these to maintain a compact and secure closure.

Shopper  The 24.95$ is for the PAIR or for each unit?...just to make sure. Thx
KENTON P  They come at that price as a pair
Harry O  I want to use them for freediving, are they the best choice? I will have them filled with multiple home made 1 lb shot filled bags. I am thinking that with the zipper closure that it would keep the shot bags from falling out.
FRANK R  Yes Harry, I think you will be fine. I purchased it because I need it for my sidemounted bc and it works perfectly. Best of luck. Frank I
L W  The description says it uses a patented quick release system, but the label on the pouch says 'non dumpable weight pouch', so which is it? Also, what is thickness of the fabric, in deniers, perferably.
KIMBERLY F  This can be a ditchable or non-ditachable weight pocket, depending on how your position it on your harness. If you position it with the zipper facing up, then it's non-ditchable. If you position it with the zipper facing down, then it is ditchable. I have a pair of these and use them as accessory pockets, thus the zipper is facing up on my harness.
