Wanted to start off by saying my size because I know the first thing I look for is if someone similar to my proportion bought this. Not sure what the other reviewer ordered but I am 6'3'', 170lbs, 39'' chest, 30'' waist in the nude. I ordered the M/L and it was perfect. There is about a foot of excess strap for me but Id prefer it that way for room to adjust.
I dive commercially and this seems durable. Time will tell of course but as far as I can see I am pleased with this purchase.
Excellent dive gear

The BC is simple and super easy to don. Especially on a pitching crowded dive boat. Some people think you need to be a tech diver or underwater worker to have a BC like this.....they are wrong. Ditch the tourist type vest/jacket and invest in one of these. You won't be sorry.
Tech/Rec is at its best with the Elite 2 Harness. The Elite 2 Harness System offers you all the features of a technical harness with the added comfort that recreational divers look for. The harness has adjustable shoulder and sternum straps equipped with squeeze-style side-release buckles for easy donning and doffing. The shoulder straps also incorporate adjustable and removable shoulder pads with 3-adjustable stainless-steel pre-bent D-rings on each shoulder for accessory attachment.
The Hollis Elite 2 Harness has a stainless-steel latch-style waist buckle. All hardware is manufactured from 316-marine-grade stainless-steel. There are 2-additional stainless-steel D-rings on the waist strap for additional rigging requirements. The Hollis Elite 2 Harness System weights 1.7 lbs. (770g).
This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

It does not come with them if you purchase the Harness only.

No tank straps/cam bands.
CHRISTOPHER T
Nope. Cam bands are separate as is the backplate.
Many folks use this for doubles where you don't need the tank cam bands.
I also suggest if using for single tank to get a single tank adapter in addition to the bands. It'll help keep the tank in place and keep the bands on tighter.

Anyone know the buoyancy of the elite 2 harness? A basic HOG harness has 0 buoyancy b/c it lacks any padding, the Elite 2 must have some due to padding.

Only a pound maybe 2 tops. You can remove the shoulder pads if you want. They just slip on.
Steve M
If this harness has any lift/buoyancy it’s negligible, certainly not enough to affect your buoyancy calculations. As far as I can tell once saturated it’s negative because of the hardware.

I can't say I've hooked it up to a scale, but by the time you assemble it with all the metal clips and d-rings, I'd say it's pretty close to neutral. Add a SS backplate and tank adapter and the whole thing is maybe -6 if I had to guess. I dive cold water with that setup and can get away with about 20lbs of lead with a Faber HP100 and a whites fusion bullet dry suit with medium weight undergarments. I'm 5'9 and about 175lbs. Hope this helps.
STEPHEN K
Not scientific but I would say very little buoyancy.

Does it come with a crotch strap? One set of answers said yes and another no.
JAMES R
Yes , mine did ! I believe the Hollis Elite does not come with one ? My Elite 2 did ! Great harness , love it ! Hope that helps !
CHARLES R
Yes mind did come with the crotch strap

I can say with complete confidence that my Elite 2 came with a crotch strap. I got a second Elite 2 for my Explorer rebreather and that one had a crotch strap, too.
JOHN H
Yes it does, with a D ring
Travis W
Yes sure does, its vital for the rig
STEPHEN K
Yes it does

Can this harness be used with Zeagle Backplates?!
YAN G
Yes, it can.
MICHAEL H
The Hollis Elite II Harness has 2" straps and should fit standard 2" slots. I have the Hollis back plate so just measure your Zeagle slots to make sure. The shoulder and waist slots are the same for Hollis and Zeagle backplates.

Can you tell me the length of the shoulder pad on the small vs the med/large?
MICHAEL H
To be perfectly honest with you - I took my shoulder pads off. I didn't need them and I don't miss them. They too often got twisted when I put on the BC. The straps are just fine at 2" and the pads don't get in the way. It's personal preference.
