About H2Odyssey Extra Air Source 3 Regulator System

You're 60' (18 meters) down, and your Primary Air Source malfunctions, you can't get air! What do you do? Pull-Out your Extra Air Source, Calmly Make-your-Way to the Surface, Make-a-Safety-Stop and once back on the boat or on shore thank your Lucky Stars" you dove with the Extra Air Source. The Extra Air Source removes existing limits on Redundant Air currently on the market and allows you to configure a Redundant-Air-Source tailored to your Diving- Needs. Whether you're Cave Diving or Diving Shallow Reefs the Extra Air Source will get you to the Surface and even provide you with Enough-Air for a Safety Stop if configured correctly for your maximum depth.

Having a Redundant Air Source for Increased Safety allows Independent Emergency Air not Dependent on your Primary Air Supply. An Octopus or Breathable Inflator System both depend on the Reliability of your Primary Air Source. If it malfunctions you're Out-of-Air! The EAS3 gives you the Reliability of a Redundant-Air-System using a Dependable Balanced Diaphragm First Stage with a Downstream Demand Valve Second Stage.

The RG3V Balanced Diaphragm, Forged, Black Chrome Plated Marine Brass First Stage Regulator is inherently Environmentally Sealed. The benefit of this type of first stage design is that none of the delicate internal parts are exposed to contaminants such as salt, sand, chlorine or pool acids. These environmental contaminants can cause corrosion and mineral deposits to form on the internal mechanism deteriorating regulator performance. With the RG3V there is a Secondary Environmental Diaphragm Membrane that seals off the spring chamber keeping the first stage completely sealed off from the environment adding a second layer of corrosion resistance. The First-Stage Regulator threads directly into the Neck-of-the-Cylinder eliminating the Need-or-Bulk of a Cylinder Valve, First Stage has a Sure-Grip On/Off Valve Hand-Wheel that is Easy-to-Turn even with gloved hands. The First Stage is equipped with 3-Low Pressure Ports and 2-High Pressure Port.

The Second Stage Regulator has a Bright Yellow Purge Cover, is a Dependable simple Downstream Demand Valve design which connects to the First Stage via a 360 Vertical/ Horizontal Swivel. The Second Stage has a Quality Silicone Mouthpiece, Diaphragm and Dual Exhaust Valves in a Dual Exhaust Manifold for Ease-of-Inhalation/Exhalation when in an Emergency Out-of-Air Situation. The Large Purge Button makes Clearing-the-Regulator Safe and Easy. The First-Stage Regulator threads directly into the neck of a 3/4"-14 NPSM cylinders eliminating the need or bulk of a cylinder valve, it also gives you the latitude of selecting the size of cylinder to be utilized.

The Extra Air Source is available in two Models. If you find that you will be filling your unit predominantly at your local dive store or on a dive boat that can fill cylinders then you will prefer the Station Filler Model, if you will be filling your unit while on the fly, then you will need the Yoke Model which allows filling from your Scuba Cylinder. If you find you may need both then the SKU's for the two Filler Adapters are as follows: H2EASSFA Station Filler and H2EASYFA Yoke Filler. Product comes with an Owner's Manual and is covered by a 24 month limited warranty.

Great product

I bought this product for an emergency and it is great. I also use it for freediving to give me a few extra breaths when exploring caves and the like. It is small in capacity so there is a limit on its usefulness at depth but it works as advertised. Testing it on the surface I drank it dry in about 10 minutes. The unit itself is good and compact. The bottle is about the size of a 1.25L coke bottle. The regulator is fixed to the top of the tank with no hoses. This makes it a bit difficult to use as you need to manoeuvre the tank up to your mouth but it is better than having hoses to secure. I have the yoke filler that enables filling from the main tank. It takes a bit of getting used to work out how to fill without leaking air. I thought I had a faulty unit but was just that I had not sealed all the treads properly (which there is a bit of a trick to). Make sure you fill slowly - otherwise the air goes into the pony hot and when it cools the pressure will fall.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Rudolf J  I am a non-diver. I need extra air when inspecting the underside of my sail boat or when I do repairs under water. Could I use this? Would I need extra things like a first and second stage or a regulator? Can I have it filled at any regular diving shop? Extra question: do you ship to the Netherlands?
David F  Even shallow dives can have life-threatening issues. Even certified recreational divers are strongly cautioned against even simple boat work underwater, and there are hazards associated with boats that commercial divers are specially trained to deal with. Using this without training would be asking for trouble and not worth the risk.
Ben T  Any tank can only be filled and used by a certified diver.
shikhar m  While charging the bottle, how do we come to know the pressure?
JOSEPH S  You install a pony tank pressure gauge. Several manufacturers make them.
TIM F  I bought a guage for mine. They are not exspensive and works great!
DAN M  You can get an optional button guage. So far, I have connected it to my main tank at the beginning of every dive so I know the starting pressure and is the same as my tank as I don't have the guage.
CARLOS A  I am not sure what you mean by "come to know the pressure", it has a pressure gauge. A certified scuba equipment facility should be able to fill the tank or pony bottle to the recommended pressure level. Their air/Nitrox equipment also has a pressure gauge.
shikhar m  Thank u everyone.
John C  Just add a pressure gauge,,,theres a built-in outlet right on the reg.
WILLIAM W  It only takes a minute and it makes a light squealing noise while filling. I put a small pressure gauge on mine which helps to also determine how much air is left in the bottle. I have used it at the pool for about two years without problems.
ERIC S  I have a small pressure gauge that ison the first stage , and that's what I look at and it is in bar so 200 bar is 300 psi. and most filling stations have a gauge that show s the bottles pressure to. hope that helps. I love my h20 odessy. it will bring you up freom a 100ft dive with a S stop/..
VLADIMIR M  If you charge bottle using fully charge tank than the pressure in the bottle will be equal to the pressure in the tank when charge is completed. Or attached small SPG to bottle.
RICHARD M  Good question. I added a pony bottle pressure gauge.
Vincent F  how is it idifferent from extra air source "2"?
DAVE S  TheEAS2 has the RG2V which is a standard piston style 1st Stage with two LP and one HP port and the EAS3 has the RG3V which has a balanced diaphram and is enviromentally sealed plus three LP and two HP ports...a much better combo, I also got mine with the tank fill valve vs the air station connector, if you need to refill on the boat you can fill from partial tanks or full.
Sam S  Balanced reg... Also cooler looking. I got both.
