Best I Found! A clean snorkel with no extra gadgets to mess you up.

I like a clean straight upper snorkel tube; with a purge valve. This is not as good as the one it replaces, but the best I have been able to find.

GREG R  Is the purge valve enclosed? I have had snorkels in the past where the valve does not have a guard over it so things are constantly sneaking in through the bottom of the valve like pieces of grass and seaweed when I snorkel for scallops.
Kevin L  Genesis Surf snorkel has a semi enclosed purge valve. Not a cage that totally encloses it, but has a plastic wall/ridge around the purge valve that extends out 0.1-0.2 inches beyond the purge valve. I would think that grass and sea weed would have a tough time entering the purge valve to prop it open. KL
Tao W  I just received a genesis surf snorkel that I purchased. Is it true that when I put in the mouth piece, the snorkel is right in front of me, not on my side?
ARNALDO N  I have this same snorkel and it fits/works as intended (on my side). Never had a problem with it.
HUGH B  Snorkel goes on left side as reg hose comes over right shoulder. Flex hose should fall to left side when not in use. It should never be right in front.
PAUL B  The snorkel will be on the left side of your face when the mouthpiece is in your mouth.

HARRY S  I am not sure what you mean when you say that it is in front of you. My snorkel fits very well. If you attach it to the left side of your mask strap, it should be in the correct position. The snorkel can be moved in the keeper and the mouthpiece and corrugated hose sections can be twisted to get a better fit.
TODD W  How is this question even possible? If you can't figure this out in :05 seconds, you should not be diving - you're a danger to yourself and your dive partner.
Nancy P  Is this a good snorkel for someone who will just be swimming and snorkeling on top of water to view fish?
Tyler M  I've used it for both snorkeling and free diving. Works great for both.
VIN M  Yes, I believe that it is and I use it for all types of diving. I should probably note that I have been diving for many years and I prefer simple, low-profile snorkels because that's what I learned with.

THOMAS J  I can't speak for the intentions of the manufacturer, but I can say that this is a fine snorkel. I have used one for a couple of years now, and I find it to be extremely comfortable and functional. Highly recommended. And, by the way, I would use one if I was to go snorkeling in the surf.
YAN G  "Surf" is just the model name they selected for this particular snorkel.
MARK O  I have no idea why it is called a surf snorkel, but I've used mine for about 5 years and had no trouble with it. I really like the purge valve - if you fail to clear all the water out on your way back up, any remaining water drops out instantly if you raise your chin high enough out of the water to get the valve into the air.
