the last one I bought was about 10 years ago, and it still works as my spare computer. It is easy to use and needs no maint. except cleaning and batteries. the new one uses a different battery, but the unit still works the same as the old one,and is very easy to read.I dont use any special gasses, just compressed air, so this one works fine.I use it in freshwater springs and lakes or salt water with no difference. PS-my brother still has one ,and it still works fine.

I had no problems with the computer. I'm not a very experienced diver, a few years with a one week dive vacation per year in warm, clear water. The main function I was looking for was the deco time, surface interval and time to fly. I got all of that. I did have a hard time deciphering the imformation that was displayed on the surface. I sat with a dive master and he explained a lot of it. I did not feel that the manual was adequate. The price was great.

Doesn't work when you use Nitrox

Comments about Genesis Resource Pro Computer Console, CG2209:

This computer works fine if you only dive air. But when you use Nitrox it doesn't work properly. The loading bar graph on the right shows shows you fully loaded and almost into Deco when on the same screen it shows NDL of over 20 minutes. It jumps from no Deco to 15 minutes for no reason. I compare my profile to other divers who still have 20 minutes of bottom time at depth and my computer says I have no time. I have 50 default set to no and always check my mix before each dive. This computer has cost me too much bottom time and aggravation. I would not recommend.

Comments about Genesis Resource Pro Computer Console, CG2209:

This computer is fantastic. It's easy to learn to use and the manual is well written. The display is large and easy to read. For a computer that does nitrox and air, you can't beat the price and quality of the product.

The only real downside for me is that you can't turn the thing off. Once you turn it on it stays on for 2 hours. That just doesn't seem to be the most efficient use of battery power, but as an entry computer it worked great for me in my advanced open water certification.

Comments about Genesis Resource Pro Computer Console, CG2209:

Bought this computer in 1996 as a new diver. It finally died on me in 2010 after >150 dives. I'm an advanced, open water recreational diver that goes on at least one week long trip per year, sometimes two. This computer worked great for me the entire time I had it. My husband also has one and his is still going strong. I am buying a new one of this same model since this is a great price and I'm already familiar with how it works. The only thing that is a little difficult is when you are accessing your dive log info, you have to hold the button in order to "freeze" it on a dive so you can record it in your log... if your finger or thumb gets tired and slips off the button, you have to start all over.

              Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
DAVID L  I was in need of a starter computer console system, and have had nothing but fun filled dives with it since purchase.
Shopper  There seems to be a open port and no cover at the side of the CG2209 for connection to a computer to download the dive logs, do you sell the cables and would this open port pose a problem at depth (i.e is it waterproof?)
Frank L  This is the sensor for the computer. It is waterproof. This computer is not downloadable. The React Pro is: http://www.leisurepro.com/p-gnsrapc/genesis-react-pro-dive-computer-console-cg3909.
Shopper  Can you put the compass in the so sole.?
Steve S  You can install a compass on the backside of this gauge. Is that what you are asking?
