A few suggestions

A couple of things to consider before you buy this. I have only used this DC for 12 dives so far, but my wife also has one with the same number of dives. For the typical recreational diver, this is good computer. If you are considering the less expensive model with only one button, you can register on Genesis' web site and download the manuals for both computers and compare features. The main feature that I was looking for was PC download so the Genesis ResourcePro model was not an option...

Most Liked Negative Review

Was great for a year, then started malfunctioning. Seems normal on beginning of dive, then screen goes blank. Dive memory dumped when restarted. [...]. Battery changing port is difficult to open and close. If you're taking one of these on a trip, take a backup computer. Not to be relied on.

Terrific for the older diver

from Albuquerque, NM, US

This is my third Genesis Computer, and my second ReAct. I'm in my eighth decade of age and my fourth of diving. This computer excels on two levels: (1) it is easy to learn, and (2) it is easy to read. At my age, ease of reading is extremely important, especially on a deep dive. On the algorithm level, I find it extremely accurate, certainly on par with any other make and model. If you're looking for bells and whistles, you might want to keep shopping. But if you want a sturdy, reliable, legible dive computer at a reasonable price, I can think of none better.

Third React Pro

from Garland, TX, US

This is the 3rd one that I have bought. The first 2 are many years old and still working fine. That is why I purchased another one for backup and for my wife. They are easy to use and program. I have replaced batteries with little trouble but you need to be careful. All and all, a great DC that gets the job done.

Odd little creature...

I did use my Genesis ReactPro for many dives. It would barely download data to my computer, and the software ONLY ran on my very old Windows XP computer! The vendor was zero help and ignored questions. THEN, although it seemed to be matching my lovely new Suunto Cobra, later there was no data in the Genesis; no one works on them, and I don't see why anyone would buy one. I decided I couldn't trust it even as a backup. Hockey puck now.

Genesis React Pro Dive Computer

If you're not a tech diver this is a great computer. Simple to use andis Nitrox compatable.

Great product, intuitive interface

Delivery was prompt. I found it impossible to download data to a PC: the manual and software download instructions conflict and (so far after three weeks of asking) no support is available to sort out the problem. Very frustrating.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
ALAN C  Had 2 of older style since year 2000, has worked well over 400+ dives. Need to update model with deep stop and safety stop timmer. Simple but very useful computer. Very easy to use and adjust for NOx32 when available even when mixing air/NOx between consecutive dives. Has Back light for night dives. My wife will not change computers.
JOHN P  Best computer for the price and functionality. Replaced my older Resource Computer that did not do Nitrox when I got Nitrox certified.
DAVID E H  Great entry level computer. Best value for the money compared to all else in this price range.
RILLA K  thought it was a good buy - - but too complicated and the two buttons make it hard to use. Will probably sell it.
DB W  What's the this DC functionality of waters below 35 degrees?
HELEN D  I have never used it in 35 degree F water, but it has worked flawlessly in the 5 years or so that I have had it. I back it up with my old Marathon "Skinney Dipper" and they always agree closely.
MICHAEL H  Not sure i dont dive in cold water with this computer
LAWRENCE C  Mine only worked till the warrenty was finished then it broke. No way to fix it..
Shopper  do I need to purchase some type of boot adaptor for the new Genesis React Pro - my console fits the old computer just fine but is this one smaller?
WOODROW S  The computer is the same diameter as the old ones, but the newer ones are thinner. They should come with a thick washer-like adapter which fits on the back of the computer and spaces it out to the right thickness. At least, mine did.
BRYAN G  yes I had to for my old console, then I got the Genesis console and didn't need boot anymore
