About Fantasea 5135 BigEye Lens G Series

Patented Wide Angle Lens for the Canon G12, G11, G10, G9* and G7* housings (WP-DC34, WP-DC28, WP-DC21, WP-DC11, and WP-DC35 respectively), which fits over the housing's port and can be installed and removed during the course of the dive. Perfect for shooting seascape, divers, ship wrecks and schools of fish, without moving further away from the subject, thereby still taking full advantage of water clarity and artificial light sources.

Lens is depth rated to 200' (60 meters), has a field of view recovery (magnification) of 105% (X0.7), angle of coverage is 80 degrees. The lens is made of optical glass, hard coated plastic and lightweight 17.56 oz (498g) corrosion resistant anodized aluminum. Lens comes with a neoprene lens cover, secure line to attach to camera housing, an instruction manual and warranty.

Compatibility: Designed for Canon G Series underwater housings (WP-DC34, WP-DC28, WP-DC21 WP-DC11 and WP-DC35). Mounted on the Canon G7 and G9 Housings by using the EyeDaptor G9-G10 (SKU: FNT4703) or for the WP-DC35 by using the EyeDaptor S90-G Series (SKU: FNT4707)

Comments about Fantasea 5135 BigEye Lens G Series:

This was made for Canon Gx series BUT it does fit on the front of my WP-DC42 (Canon Sx230/SX220)

If you are diving with this dome, I don't see how you could take it off (for instance to shoow macro), and leave it dangling. Yes, I know I need the Fantasea 4054 EyeGrabber BUT logically it should have come with the BigEye.

Maybe someone can suggest a free-option to keep my BigEye safe from banging it against corals when I take it off?

    Questions about this item:

Shopper  I have a WP-DC42 with canon Sx-230HS. Does this fit the front of the DC-42? My research seems to suggest that DC-42 & DC-34 have the same dimensions.
DELAINE A  I have WP-DC-38 and it did fit the front of the camera.
Shopper  anybody use this with a cannon housing ? how sucessful was adding it ? thx
RONALD F  I used this with my Canon WP DC34 housing for the G11/G12 just last week in Cozumel. it fits on nicely, but you need to be sure you let some water in and tap the case a few times at the beginning of your dive - it likes to trap little air bubbles in between the lens and the lens of the camera housing. Pictures don't look so well then.... Keep in mind this lens makes things look wide-angle and farther away - so it's not beneficial if you're trying to shoot close subjects or macro.
John H  I've some good and bad reviews on the Big Eye, can I ask if this model is the upgraded model from Fantasea ? Thanks John
David R  Order came in within the past 2 months so it should be the new one
