The best way to transfer data to your dive log software

I use this to transfer dive data from Oceanic dive computers to the Dive Log app on our iOS devices. To me, buying this device over the OEM computer cable was a no-brainer. It's only $10 more, and because it uses bluetooth technology you are not tied in to a specific physical connector. And it works with your mobile devices - how many of us carry a computer around on our dive trips? Great concept and a well-executed product. I only wish it were supported by more dive log software package...

Total crap. I already returned it because it didn't work- right off the bat. The support forum is terrible. Absolutely no help. Don't waste your money.

Don't bother

By

from Gilbert, AZ, US

Zero stars is really the rating!! Thought it would be great to upload dive info on the spot. Have to go to the website for instructions, that are not there. Go to a support forum, that the software shown is ancient. Played around for 30 minutes to find the setting field for the device. Currently have 14 dives on the computer, made it through 3 of them before loosing connection. Tried over 10 times and couldn't get past 12 (as in 14, 13, 12). Times out all the time. What a waste of money!!!!

Buggy Software, Lack of Support

By

Bluetooth module has limited software support from 3rd parties. The divePAL software from DiveNav is buggy on Android and PC. Missing tank pressure data, incorrect dates, inability to properly log dive locations etc. Do not recommend. Viewing the same cloud stored dive on the PC and an Android device has different data. Some changes on PC do not sync back to cloud properly.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Jonathan F  Wanted to be able to download my dive data from my computer directly to my phone while still on the boat. I'm crazy like that.
Shopper  what type of battery does this product use?
Stuart S  Not sure of the battery. Returned the non-functional unit. Never received credit or replacement. Shopper beware.
PETER P  CR2032 3V coin cell battery that should last 3 to 6 months depending on how many downloads you perform.Enter an answer to this question.
Susan W S  Sal watch style that lasts a long time.
Bruce D  CR 2032 (3V). I took mine apart (2 Phillips screws) to find out!
Ned S  CR2032 3volt
DWIGHT D  Will this work with the Oceanic Pro Plus 2? The Pro Plus 2.1 is listed but not the 2.
Stuart S  I have the OCI, that is listed, but it never stayed connected. Returned the unit
Bruno B  Can't say for sure. The DCbuddy has never worked properly on my computer, and although the development team is responsive in trying to fix the software transfer, it seems to be a work in progress. I have never beien able to count on it ...
ROSS O  I don't know the answer to your specific question but I would advise against buying this product, the customer service is nonexistent.
PETER P  I'm pretty sure the answer is yea. I have an Ocenaic Veo 3 and my wife a VEO 2, the Veo 2 is not listed but the # is and both work fine. I'm fairly confident the software is basically the same. Ours works great with both computers, besides I'm sure Leisure Pro will backup your purchase
JOSH K  IF the download cable is the same for both watches then it will work.
