About Dive-Rite Primary Reel w/o Drag, 400' (122 meters) #24 Line

The genesis of the Primary Reel began in 1984 when North Florida cave divers needed a reel with 400' (122 meters) of line in order to reach the main line in the Devil's cave system at Ginnie Springs. Voila! The Dive Rite Primary Reel was born. The Dive Rite Primary Cave Reel has 400' (122 meters) of DuPont Fiber Braided .073" (1.86 mm) diameter #24-Line with breakage strength of 220 lbs (99.80 kg) and a X-Large Stainless Steel Bolt Snap.

The Reel positions the Handle on Top, which helps divers who use a handheld light to hold both the light and the reel in one hand, freeing the other hand to work the reel. The Marine Grade Stainless Steel Frame of the reel comes with a Series of Pre-Drilled Holes so divers can change positions from a Top-Mount Handle to a Side-Mount Handle or a Left-Hand Operated Reel. The Injected Molded Polycarbonate Spool with T"-Top Lockdown Screw for Easy Grip is Resistant to Breakage and Cracking. The Spool is held in place with a Stainless Steel "C" Clip so replacing the Spool or Cleaning-Up a Jammed Reel is Simple. The Reel is also equipped with a Corrosion Resistant Stainless Steel Axle and weighs 1.68 lbs (0.76 kg). Reel is covered by a 12 month limited warranty.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive-Rite 400 ft # 24 Line Cave Primary Reel # 4300:

I really loved this reel until I came back from a dive in Devil's Ear at Ginnie Springs to find the brake knob was missing, it had broken off. We had to wrap the line around the entire reel in order to get it out of the cave.
When my friends and I attempted to get the remaining plastic out of the hole, we ended up cracking the entire spool...other than the cheap plastic, it's a good reel.
