Great for keeping a mask pouch or jon line from slipping off.
Great D-Ring
By
K-man
This rigid D-ring is much better than the smaller versions often sold that are difficult to clip items due to the small "loop." This D-ring stands high and is very easy to reach and use, especially in cold water with bulky wetsuits, drysuits, and/or thick gloves. The only person who would not be happy with this product would be a cave diver.

how many places on the deck slide is the D-ring welded to? Two?

Just as the photo shows, one cannot discern any welds of the D-ring to the deck slide. I looked at all of mine without seeing any signs of spot welds on either the front or back of the slide. Perhaps they are really brazed? In any case, I have not had a failure of any of the eight I own and use on my backplate harnesses over the past 3-4 years. I highly recommend them!

I'm not sure but I have never known one of these to break.

There are 2 welds. I pick up my belt by this thing all the time, even with 40lbs of lead when in storage. It's very sturdy.

Why Did You Choose This?

I've been using zip ties to clip stuff to, but after losing a catchbag while freediving because of a zip tie breaking, I decided that I should get a real loop.
