About Cressi Travelight BCD

The Cressi Travelight is a Lightweight Version of a Traditional Jacket BCD with All-Around Lift to provide good Balance and Trim Under-the-Water and Support while on the Surface. The Overall-Weight of the Travelight has been Reduced-by-Careful-Selection of Strong but Light Materials to allow the BCD to be Packed-Down into a very Small Carry Bag that is Ideal for Travelling.

The BCD Bladder uses a Durable Internally Urethane Laminated 210-Denier Nylon to provide the necessary Strength without adversely affecting the Weight and Light-Alloys have been used to make the D-Rings in place of Traditional Stainless Steel. This Weight-and-Bulk Reduction doesn't mean that the Travelight is unable to support a Full-Integrated Weight System with Trim Pockets. The Cressi Travelight BCD comes with the Integrated Lock Aid Quick-Release Weight System that hold up to 20 lbs (9 kg), with 10 lbs (4.5 kg) in each Pocket, and two Additional Rear Non-Releasable Trim Weight Pockets that help Increase-Stability in the Water.

The Travelight is also fitted with more traditional features such as a Rear Kidney and Right Shoulder Pull Dumps, a Inflator Integrated Pull Dump on the Left-Shoulder and Manual Deflation from the Inflator Assembly. A Large Zipped Pocket can be found on either side of the BCD for Convenient-Storage of Accessories. The Travelights Harness System uses Traditional Squeeze-Style" Quick-Release Buckles and Adjustable Straps on the Shoulders, Chest and Waist for Precise-Adjustment-and-Fit. A hook and loop Adjustable Waist Cummerbund provides Extra-Security and Comfort. A Flexible Padded Back Pad with Twin Cylinder Cam Bands provides good Back Protection and Cylinder Security while still allowing the BCD to be Quickly Folded and Packed-Away.

The BCD comes equipped with a 3/8" Low Pressure Hose and provides from 13.5 to 36 lbs (6.1 to 16.3 kg) of Lift and weighs 5 to 6.2 lbs (2.3 to 2.8 kg). The Cressi Travelight BCD is available in several color options, 5 sizes, comes with an Owner's Manual and is covered by a 12 month limited warranty.

DIVE PINK & FIGHT BREAST CANCER! For every Pink BCD $40 will be donated to fight breast cancer.

Outstanding travel/recreational BC

If you're flying to warm water locations, this is the BC for you. Yes it is pricey and yes it is worth it. Things I love: 1) Packs into an impossibly small size weighing only a little over 5 lbs! 2) The integrated weight system is secure and very easy to use. 3) Very large and easily accessible pockets with plenty of room for everything I may want to bring along. 4) Plenty of D rings in all the right places for recreational diving. 5) Trim pockets I never thought I needed but now lov...

Dives well--lacks durability

With only 12 dives, The material on a shoulder strap is fraying and one of the snaps for the back weight pockets came undone without use. Very comfortable, dives well---just needs better material

Never buy Cressi BCD again

By

Brought this type of BCD, online, as I travel frequently. Within a month the dump valve insert came away from BCD bladder, allowing air to escape and water in, now unusable. Attempted to contact Cressi, no reply, I must pay over $200 to return BCD to where I brought product, an extra $200 a manufacturer fault!!

Great BCD for travel

By

I have used this BCD all over the world. It packs so small and dries quickly. It is light, dependable and high quality. I have used in salt, caves, cenetoes, Indonesia, Bonaire, Cozumel and it works perfectly. I think that there may be more effective BCDs for more frequent divers, but for travel, there is nothing better when you want to keep the equipment and luggage to a minimum. I am a size small, 5'3", 34E and 140lbs and it fits great. lots of pockets/features for the size

Full featured travel BC

By

My wife and I bought one each for tropical trips and appreciated keeping all the essential features in a lighter BC. We did 28 dives and agree with an earlier reviewer the need to not mount the tank too high to prevent the reg interfering with the back of our heads. We will convert the packing strap into a crutch strap to assist in preventing this happening, in my view Cressi would be better to not have the rear pouch for this strap and use the savings to make it a dual purpose item. I will also add an attachment point inside each pocket to ensure we don't lose the safety gear we store there. There are plenty of attachment points on the BC elsewhere. Overall we are extremely pleased with the quality of the product and will also use it cold water diving in Melbourne.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Nicole M  Good reviews, Good price and lightweight for Travel.
Guy C  Great price, good reviews, and I will use it both for Caribbean and local dives. This seemed to be a good compromise to satisfy both.
daniel s  I bought my wife a Cressi Travelight BCD based on the one I bought for myself. They are easy to pack up and travel with! This is great when your heading out to the Caribbean!
STEVEN L  Looking for light travel BCD after much research decided on travelight had many good reviews.
MARK P  This BC was rated as one of the top travel BC's and the price point was right on! I travel/dive all over the world and I am tired or schlepping my Zeagle Ranger around with me...looking forward to a light weight travel BC.
BEN B  Reviews, weight, compactness
PAUL J  easy for travel
Elias M  What size Cressi Travel Light BCD would you recommend for me? I am 6' tall, 185 lbs, 42 chest, 32 waist.
HENRY K  I'm 5'11" and weigh 175 lbs with a 42 chest and 34 waist and the medium fits me perfectly, even with a 3mm wetsuit under it.
Mike T  Hi Elias, i would recommend size large.
DAWN S  I am 6'2" 190#, 42" chest, and I wear a large. This bc has a little buoyancy so I have to add 2# above what I use with my regular bc. I do use this for warm water diving sometimes. Be sure to clean and rinse any travel bc as they can have bladder issues. I have had none with mine and I have done many dives over many years with it.
JOEL S  Large
Tim J  Would this be a bad option with someone with a bad back due to the lack of back plate?
MICHELLE A  I have had the Cressi Travel Light BCD for several years now. It has held up well and is pretty durable. It is softer than others due to the lack of the back plate, so unless you need firmer support this would be a good option. The only minor issue I don't like is the compression strap zipper pocket on the inside lower back is a bit uncomfortable while wearing the full kit with a tank while walking on land because it digs in your lower back. If this zipper pocket was on the outside if the BCD it would be more comfortable. Overall a great, light, travel BCD. Hope this helps!
JOEL S  I didn't notice any difference in pressure on my back. But as you know, even the smallest tank puts a lot of weight on your back when you are out of the water.
Dean W  No it feels just like the regular BC's except lighter and easier to carry around
MARK T  The back part where the tank hooks on is not nearly as ridged as if there was a solid metal or plastic back plate, but I am not sure there would be any difference to someone with a bad back. The total weight of the of the rig, tank and integrated weights is still carried mainly on your shoulders. It might be a better option to put the BCD on in the water and remove it while still in the water and have the dive masters hoist it onto the boat for you. That way your back would be given as little stress as possible. Most are very willing to help, just ask when while you are traveling to the dive site. I like the BCD but it is a travel one and not as sturdy as some. Weight of the BCD makes a difference on materials it is made from. I have had mine for 5ish years and no problems, but 1 seem is fraying out of 4 of the same BCDs. Mark Theiss PADI MSDT Instructor
BILL C  It is the best travel BC I have ever owned Without a back plate it is lighter but you do give up some stability at the surface
