Have been using this little gun for almost three years now. God knows how many fish speared as I fish basically year round. I live in coastal British Columbia and we have very rich marine environment here. So far this little gun have never failed on me. I hear many complains about shaft and tip. I don't know how you folks manage to break the shaft. Tip is a little soft and will be dulled with first hard hit to the rock, but honestly I prefer sharpening the tip with a few passes with a file rather than it being chipped or broken. I am still using the same shaft and the same tip, though tip with many touch ups is getting a little shorter. But hey, that same tip went through so many fish already, can't complain, really. I didn't do any maintenance to the gun, never had to take it apart, and the whole set up is stock, just the way it came to me. I can't remember me having to pump it up either, after initial charge. Am I lucky or is it just a great design, I have no idea. Most of my catch is smaller fish, surf perch (pile perch or variety), rock fish, ling cod (this is big fish, 6 lbs and up), greenlings etc. Every outing I will be maxing out on my fishing licence, eat and freeze whatever I can't eat and go again next day. Sometimes I do that every day for weeks at the time. Gun is just grab and go, and it does deliver.
