I'm about 6'1" tall and weigh around 170 lbs. I'm moving to South Florida in a couple of months. Would this be a good wetsuit for year-round diving in South Florida? Also, if so, would a large most likely be a good fit?
Zane. I dive with the suit in Cozumel in November and April. Temps range from 76-81 F. I also always use a 3mm hooded vest with the Cressi. I'm toasty warm all the time and I am prone to getting cold easily. I am 5' 8" and 165 lbs. and I bought the extra large size. I did so because of the hooded vest I wear. I believe a large size would be way too small for you. Temperature wise, if the south Florida water temps are close to the temps I dive in, you should be good that way. As you may know, LeisurePro has a size guarantee, so you can exchange the size free until you're happy. Hope this helps.
good for all year in Florida.. Should be a good fit.. Very nice suit!!
Zane, I am 5'10" and weigh 185 and purchased an xl which fits me well. I have about 30 days of diving with the wet suit in water ranging from 77 to 81 degrees. overall I have been very happy with the suit and would buy again. Hope this helps
I think it would be a great year round FL suit. I bought it for tropical diving and really like it. I'm 6' 2" and 185 lbs and the L fits me well so I would check with LP to see if the medium might be better for you. I hope that helps.
I used this suit for several dives in Hawai and the Carribean. The suit was not too warm. It is easy to put on and take off. I think large would be a good size for you as I am 6' tall and weigh 215 and wore an extra large suit.
I'm about your same size, 5'11", and about 170-175 lbs. I think a large will be just about right for you. I dove this wetsuit in Cozumel in February and water was 79-80, and it was great. I was so warm in fact, that I let it dry between dives so it would be dry for a night dive and just dove in board shorts on my 2nd dive. I'm planning to dive it in Hawaii next week in Kona, water temp should be 76-78, so I can let you know. Overall fit was good, and just enough elasticity to flex with you but still form fitting. It was fairly comfortable and easy getting off and on as well. My 3rd wetsuit so far, and by far my favorite. Good value for the price, don't think you can go wrong.
I don't know about year around...believe me the water does get cold down and only few of us hardy souls dive come January /February This suit is steal for the price. Fits as good if not better than my Henderson H2. I'm 6'2" and weigh in at 220lbs. and wear an XXL Long...buy it.
This is a very warm wetsuit. I've taken it to the Philippines and Indonesia and in both locations was almost too warm but the water temps were in the low-mid 80's. Just an FYI.
I'm 5'10" and weigh 180. Fits me well.
I think you'd be just fine but that's not a guarantee, of course. Happy diving.
This is a great suit for south Florida. Maybe a little warm in summer but if you are only going to have one suit this is a good choice. My son is a divemaster in Palm Beach and this is the suit he has been wearing and loves it.
Depending on where you are coming from you might not want to wear a suit in the summer. The 3mm should do fine for the other times. After 10 years of diving in Florida I have just gotten a 5mm for the winter months, but before that I used a 3mm for fall and winter.
This fits real good. I am 5'8" and was 180 (I've lost some, but it still fits great) when I first wore it and it fit perfectly. It still fits great, I just look better in it. ;)
