I have 3 snorkels and after considerable use of all 3, this is my favorite. I also have an Oceanic Ultra dry. The features that make the Cressi my favorite over the Oceanic are heavier bite wings and stronger mouthpiece. When free diving over 10', you can feel the mouthpiece of the Oceanic compress from the water pressure. The Cressi is stronger and I do not experience that problem with it. Neither comes up dry when free diving to 10' and beyond for any length of time. Both are completely dry for shallow dives. I don't use my older wet snorkel anymore, love the dry.

I wasn't a fan of this snorkel. I used it for three dives and some snorkeling recently and the "dry" feature didn't really work well for me. It would take in water on the choppy surface and also when I dove under. There's a sliding thing that is supposed to prevent water from getting in, but it wasn't very effective.

I did like the flexible mouth piece, but it's a bit too long and the the mask clip doesn't really position the snorkel back properly. I tried it on both of my masks and it felt like my snorkel was pointing forward (instead of up) when I had my face down in the water.

Comments about Cressi Supernova Dry Snorkel:

I am not used to a dry snorkel so this took a little getting used to. There is more drag through the water than a standard basic snorkel but much less than many other snorkels with a purge. The flexible part has a tendency to want to pull out of your mouth and it takes just a little effort to keep the mouthpiece in place. This can get tiring after several hours of use.

              Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Janna G  Great, serviceable snorkel - good reviews and reasonable price.
Amy M  I saw comments and was wondering is this truly a dry snorkel? My fiance has issues and that's why he is not a fan of snorkeling so thought he could try a dry snorkel, but as I don't have a problem with purging, I am not sure which one to go with. Looking for choppy water snorkeling and free diving (maybe 20 feet). Thanks!
KENT J  Great snorkel and yes it is dry with no need to purge.
Sam S  Is this product good for snorkeling only or is there a better model for someone who will be doing some limited reef diving?
ROLAND C  It could serve well for either snorkeling or limited diving since it is a very sleek design, with low drag, and a flexible mouthpiece tube. I use mine for both.
