I have used this Octo for over a year as a Dive Master and on my own trips. It functions perfectly, is easy to adjust, and the flow adjustment actually works. My wife has used in pool and open water practice (Bonaire) and really likes it. I am buying her one as well. I spoke to a service rep at Cressi who told me it is actually built for 50% O2. So it is way above standard for enriched air diving.

I have an issue with this equipment every time I dive. For the most part it's a good solid octo, when it's in your mouth. But no matter how I adjust the the thing it manages to free flow or have a solid leak of air almost every time I dive. The unit is brand new and I'm not impressed at all. My reg is a delta 4 and ofcourse there is no comparison but you still expect it to function properly. My advice is spend a few extra bucks and save yourself the headache.

          Comments about Cressi XS Octopus:

Bought this so I could use my rig for travel since I have an Octo-plus on my BC to use as back-up. My first dive with the Cressi XS, I used it for a portion of the dive to test it. I liked the way it breathed and had no issues with free flow when re-securing it.

                Comments about Cressi XS Octopus:

I use this reg (in black) as my main 2nd stage and on my pony (in yellow). I've never had it free flow at any depth and they've both been on a lot of dives. It breathes as easy at 130' as it does at 15'. I've found it completely reliable. It's easy to disassemble for cleaning and it's easy to set the cracking lever. Compete instructions for servicing are on the Cressi site.
