Foot Pocket: as with the Gara Professional fins, the New Foot Pocket of the Gara Professional LD has been designed to fit on the bottom of the actual fin blade. Excellent Fin

Excellent Fin. I spend about 4 hrs a day in the water snorkeling and cover about 2 miles of water, I never feel like I have anything attached to my feet, but move very efficiently through the water and have the ability to chase down fish. You can move very quickly when you have to and can conserve all your energy when your just looking for fish from the surface.

Broke after 1 use but replaced under warranty

from Satellite Beach, FL, US

I liked the fins upon initial use but then after a few free dives a hole developed on the heel of the foot pocket. It was covered under warranty but I had to pay return shipping to leisurepro which was almost $20. For a product that cost under $80 I was not happy to pay another $20 to get them replaced. I would have liked to see leisurepro or cressi cover the return shipping. I have not yet used the new replacement fins.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
MICHAEL S  I wanted a high performance fin for occassional use without bucking up yet for carbon fiber.
MICAH B  Great price point. Although the blade is on top of the foot pocket (most are below the foot pocket), my SCUBA diving fins are the same way so I don't think it will be weird for me.
Border Services Connor U  best spearhunting fin on here
Michael F  I have a set of these already and got two more for my friends to do some free diving and spearfishing. These fins make a huge difference in the water.
Dave M  I looked around and this seems like the best deal right now.
ANNE S  Looking for a lighter weight, flexible, full foot fin for warm water diving and I was ready to ditch the heavy boots and fins from my coldwater days, (Those fins were very hard to remove in the water after a dive.)
becky t  Anchor diving.
George M  Sale price provided an excellent value for a long, high performance fin.
David B  The Cressi Gara Professional LD fins have received consistently good reviews since their introduction. I have postponed their purchase for some time but, recently, I discovered the insanely great pricing at Leisure Pro and could no longer resist. These will be my first "long" fins and following some in-water time, I'll submit a review of their performance.
ROBERT B  great performance for price
DAVID A  wanted to try the very long fins.. would be good for diving, but too unwieldy for snorkeling. only get a good stoke on the down stroke when snorkeling.. underwater however, they are brutally fast if you have strong legs
Carmen L  Always had problems with foot cramps. Would these finds help?
Mark T  No. Make sure your fins are comfortable and use the right thickness of booties if you use them. You might be kicking too hard. Use the large muscles in you thighs. Hope this helps.
ROBERT B  you have to have propper fitting fins to help with the foot cramps these fins are great if your used to using a longer more agressive fin . i would suggest split fins and use flutter kick style while swimming
FREDERICK J  Foot cramps are usually caused by the fins fitting to tight. I buy my fins a little bigger than they need to be. The longer fins could cause leg cramps until you get use to them. But the blades on these fins are not real rigid so they may not bother you.
STEVEN M  I assume you're comparing them to scuba or snorkeling fins. That's a hard question to answer. They are longer and more efficient if you're going in a straight line like up and down to depths like free divers do. They might save your legs from that aspect as they make you inclined to take longer, smoother strokes with your legs. On the other hand they are not as manueverable is shorter fins and would not be a good choice in shallow water where you might be turning around a lot. It takes a lot more leg muscle to move them around sideways in the water.
j s  How stiff are these compared to others? Soft, medium or stiff?
gordon r  they are very soft at the boot but the blades are quite stiff much stiffer than the older models
DAVID A  I would say that they are medium stiff. Nothing like carbon fiber though The foot pocket however is medium and pretty comfortable. I would ONLY use these BELOW the surface. they are not good for surface ( snorkeling) swimming. very fast, very efficient, really well made. For free diving or for spearfishing.. they're great fins
Mike T  Hi JS, They are a medium stiffness, good for long periods of time in the water. The positioning of the foot pocket beneath the blade minimizes foot strain and increases efficiency. If you want something stiff i would go for the Gara 2000. For the money these fins are truly a great value.
j s  Thanks! I was looking for something considered "soft" so to speak.
