Not a duve watch or dive compass

    • Not Water Resistant

Comments about Casio SGW100B-3V Digital Compass Twin Sensor Sport Watch:

When I ordered the watch I was under the impression that the watch could be used for diving. It states in the information I received that it could not be used for Scuba. I used it for diving anyway and as a watch it work ok though there was some level of fogging. When I tried to place it in compass mode it did not appear to function correctly - Mode changes did not occur as expected under water and the amount of time it spends in compass mode was less than is required. If you did get it to switch under water it did not remain active for the time required to take a reasonable barring.
I was only looking to use this compass to get a gross baring back to the boat and not do any real navigation using this. I was trying to minimize the weight I carried during travel so this looked like an alternative to combine a dive watch and compass function.
The temperature function does not appear to function well on land or in the water. It is greatly effected by your body temperature. For a toy or novelty this is fine but if you intend to use it for light duty diving I would not recommend it.

Comments about Casio SGW100B-3V Digital Compass Twin Sensor Sport Watch:

This is a decent watch and with the hole strap wristband you can get a good fit especially if you have a smaller wrist. However the compass portion is slow and not very accurate. Its more of a novelty or back up to a real compass. I bought this for a dive compass but in using it on land I noticed it to be slow and hard to operate without gloves on so underwater it wouldn't be easy to use for primary navigation. But it can go to depth and illuminate well.

David E  where can I get a user guide that can be read without a magnifying glass or telescope?
JOHN B  I was able to download a users manual from Casio and also mine came with smaller flash card to carry in your gear. So far it has had no problems and been on alot of dives.
