Comfortable and warm in the Pacific Northwest!

So I live and dive in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle) and most people who do so will swear that you need a drysuit. I can safely say that with this bad boy that is simply not true. There is very little water migration in this suit, so little in fact that my hair was still half dry after my first dive. Much warmer than a 7mm farmer john style suit (14mm on the core.) As a bonus it's also pretty comfy and streamlined. Looks cool too. Happy Diving!

Bad quality suit

Worst brand suit I have ever used. I am a diver and experienced with different brands. This has been the worst so far! The zipper broke five months after purchasing this suit and the company would not repair it for me. So disappointed with the bad customer service! What a waste of money!

I have not actually used it yet. But from my inspection, the suit is of great quality.

Great suit for price

By

from Seattle, WA, US

This suit is about the warmest I've experienced next to a drysuit in the Puget Sound. Slightly tough to don and doff but that only helps keep you warmer. Don't know how long the zipper lasts because I've only had it for a few weeks but for the price I'll keep buying these as long as I can. What happens in the suit stays in the suit.......

Great suit very comfortable and WARM

By

from Morgan Hill, CA, US

First the basics, I am 6'3" 250, suit jacket 48, jeans 32. I looked at the sizing and although I almost always go with a 3x to fit on top, the sizing chart was spot on. The 2x is perfect. It stretches wonderfully to fit. Now that I have 15 dives in the suit it has settled into my body. It is a little tricky to don/doff but here are the basics of what I do. A little baby shampoo/water (I use it for defog so I always have it anyway) makes donning the top easy. I use my tee shirt and the t hook zipper to fully close the suit. So you can don/doff this by yourself without problems. This is warm. I live in Monterey, Ca and I can spend a full day teaching and never get cold. The flexibility and agility of the suit is great when compared with a dry suit so I am less tired and feel good at the end of the day.

Bare 8/7 semi dry

By

Great, high quality suit! Definitely takes some getting used to getting out of it, needed a second person the first few times until I got the hang of it. Haven't had it in the water yet so can't speak on warmth but it came highly suggested from much more seasoned divers so I have no doubt it will perform for many years to come.

Best wet suite yet

By

from Ketchikan, AK, US

I am 5'9",220# xls is a perfect fit! Well made. By far the best wet suite I have had since I started scuba diving in 1970. Works well in SE Alaska waters in Dec. So far. Great product. Easy to get into. Just needed a little help with one shoulder to get out of it.

Q&A

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Clyde W  This semi-dry is ideal for moderately cold conditions. Down here in Virginia we dive all year long in quarries with some pretty cool water temps and even snow on the ground occasionally. I've found this suit is sufficient to about 44 degrees. Below that it feels chilly. It's a great suit though, nice fit, the zipper is fantastic and the hood seals nicely around your face.
Shopper  Can a pee valve be installed on this suit?
Tiffany C  You could install a pee valve on this suit but at that point you would be better off installing one in a drysuit.
RANDAL B  Hey just pee in the suite
MICHAEL D  If you're talking about adding a pisette, then yes it can be done. The tube will flop about unless Velcro or some other attachment is used. Pisettes work best on 2 pc. suits. Good Luck ... stay warm ;)
David B  It's actually a very good wetsuit, you just pee in it. I have had custom convince zippers installed in similar suits.
JAMES B  Yes.
Frank L  Of course. A pee valve can be installed on most suits.
LUCAS C  Can I attach a pocket (or two) into this suit legs?
Tiffany C  I glued a neoprene pocket on with neoprene cement no problem.
CLAYTON L  Neoprene glue + pocket will attach just fine.
MICHAEL D  With a good seamstress, I don't see why not (exterior cargo pocket). The material is very thick so a commercial machine will need to be used. Good luck.
David B  It's a regular wetsuit. If you penetrate the legs it may leak a tiny bit more. I wouldn't think that would be a problem
cheryl b  What do you mean "attach"?
steven v  I'd hate to start sewing into a $500 wetsuit without knowing how. You would be better off getting a belt with pouches.
