About Bare SB System Men's Dry Suit

SB SYSTEM Dry Suit is awarded the BEST NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR 2011 by ScubaGadget

The SB SYSTEM dry suit is a revolutionary performance inspired tri-laminate constructed from a proprietary blend of fabrics exclusive to BARE. This unique tri-laminate dry suit uses a special blend of fabrics that deliver 4-way stretch for a "next-to-skin" fit and breathability for a balanced body temperature on the surface before and after your dive.

THE WORLD'S FIRST STRETCH BREATHABLE DRYSUIT DIVING SYSTEM

BARE understands that a truly memorable dive experience is one to remember because of the dive, not the equipment. That's why they developed the SB SYSTEM. It's a combination of 3 lightweight layers that provide STRETCH and BREATHABILITY, enhancing your overall comfort level so you can focus on the real adventure underwater.

The SB SYSTEM uses STRETCH to deliver "next-to-skin" fit and unparalleled freedom of movement, and BREATHABILITY to move moisture away from your skin and exhaust trapped humidity, keeping you warmer and drier throughout the dive and on the surface. If you want the best dry suit diving experience, we are confident that you will find it in the new SB SYSTEM.

BARE dry suits are legendary for their durability and longevity with many of BARE customers getting a full lifetime of use out of their BARE dry suit before passing it on to a friend or family member. This has allowed us to offer something that no other dry suit manufacturer has been able to do: A Lifetime Guarantee on seams and workmanship. Much more than a warranty, BARE is the first and only dry suit manufacturer to offer a Lifetime Guarantee . Except for normal wear and tear, misuse or negligence, BARE will honor all claims against seams and workmanship for the life of the dry suit worldwide. Even if you're not the original owner, you're covered.

In a category where the next closest competitor only offers a 7-year warranty, BARE thinks you'll agree that the BARE Guarantee says something quite extraordinary about the quality of the workmanship, materials and technology that goes into each and every one of BARE's dry suits. BARE stand behind their workmanship like no other company, because you deserve a product like no other.

The new SB SYSTEM allows you to choose from (In-Stock) latex or as a Special Order 3mm neoprene comfort-fit neck seal. 2mm nylon/smooth-skin warm collar with vented neck drain provides an improved seal with the BARE (SKU: BREHE) Elastek dry hood. A 360 degree swivel inflator valve and adjustable low-profile exhaust valve make inflation and buoyancy trim easy and comfortable.

Suit is equipped with pre-installed suspender tabs - ready to accept optional suspenders. Your choice of (In-Stock) HD bottleneck latex wrist seals with talc bag or as a Special Order Neoprene, M-PADz abrasion resistant seat and knee protection. The Knee protection with 1mm neoprene backing providing added padding for comfort. Comments about Bare Sports Bare SB System Men's Dry Suit:

This could be a great suit. I own it and have been diving it for a year now. There's so much to love about this suit, it's so easy to don and I really can do yoga in it. However Bare doesn't quite have the materials down yet. This suit suffers from a delamination problem, that means the different materials do not stay together causing leakage.

I always come out of my dives weak, it's not a catastrophic leak, but if I do 3 dives the waters gets to my through my undergarments. This has happened on as large a percentage of suits that Bare recalled all unsold suits and is offering existing owners credit towards a new suit or the ability to borrow one of their suits until your suit is fixed, assuming you have a leak.

I haven't sent my suit it yet, but I will have to soon. It's been diveable, just a bit more wet than it should be.

Another thing is the zipper. I love the zipper, however you have to make sure it's free of sand or any derbies, especially from shore dives because it doesn't have a protection zipper.

I hope Bare figures out the problem because I would love to have this suit fixed and keep diving it. Bare does have a lifetime warranty, but I have heard rumors that since Huish bought them they have become less responsive. Keep that in mind going forward with Bare suits.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  I fit perfectly into a MLarge, the only thing I'm worried about is the chest, I'm closer to a 44-45 chest, what size do you think I should get?
Monica s  If you fall mainly into the ML then this should be fine. The suit material is quite fantastic in that it has a lot of give. So I think you should be fine. Enjoy
Shopper  Is this unisex sizing or is their a separate suit for women?
Monica s  This is men's sizing, there is not a womens size run at the moment.
Jason A  Hi, I'm interested in buying a BARE SB - Looking at their size chart I seem to fall-out at or above the high-end of the range for the Large Tall (particulalry height, chest, waist, inseam), but below or at the low end of the range for XL Tall (well-below the 215-240 lbs on weight, hips lower). I am 6'4", 195 lbs, 43.5" chest, 37.5" waist, 41" hips, any recommendation on size? Thanks!
Brett H  In the sizing you would probably be best off in the L tall, and if you would like a little extra length bare can give you an inch or two on the arms and legs. This only leaves you .5" over in a few specs which shouldn't be an issue unless you think you will be wearing a very bulky undergarment. If you want a little extra room you would then go to the size XL and again have bare give you a couple of extra inches in length, that will get your height requirement met and you will be on the bottom of every measurement except hips which you will be below. My vote is the bare mid layer undergarment in the L Tall.
