I used it in Aruba in 75-80 degree water and believe me it keeps the chill out over multiple dives. Outstanding quality material and build. The size is true to the size chart. I'm 6'2" 210lbs and need Large Tall (LT). Way much better than the standard neoprene suits in terms of stretch and fit.
Spendy... But a great suit

This is a lot to pay for a 3mm wetsuit. However, I must say it is a very nice suit and I am happy with the purchase.
I am 6' and 150lbs. The MT size fit me perfectly.
Suit was perfect for warm water 72F dive.

Is the 7mm suit good for surfing in the Pacific Northwest?
JOE S
These suits are made specifically for diving and fit for that. They will work for surfing, but aren't made of any open cell type of neoprene that surf suits may or may not include.
Rupert A
I use it for diving in California. It is comfortable and stretchy so it should work for surfing...its certainly warm enough.

is this suit good for surfing?

In terms of thermal protection and providing plenty of buoyancy when you fall off the board, it will do the job. As far as swimming, it can be done but it will be stiff, which should improve once is broken in. Even then stiffness/ resistance will be at least 50 percent than say a 3 mm surfing full body suit. As I diver I like this suit but if I was surfing I’d consider if staying warm rates higher than flexibility as a requirement
JOE S
It will be warm enough for the Pacific Northwest, but might be a bit thick for dexterity and paddling. It is a stretchy suit and isn't bulky or cumbersome at all. Just made to offer warmth when you are not moving around.
MICHAEL C
Yes and no. Lets be honest....The pacific is super cold and a 7mm suit does the trick most of the time thermally. However, as a swimmer its kinda hard to move in such a thick suit. The short answer is you can swim although it will be a little stiff at first until the suit is broken in a little bit. After my 3-4 uses it became much easier to swim. I imagine you want to be able to swim in this suit comfortably one day, but don’t expect it to be amazing at first. And that’s also assuming the fit is correct. Honestly I would still prefer one of my thinner suits for swimming, this is def more of a diving suit. As I diver I love this suit. But as a former racer (swimming) this is not a suit I love to swim in. Even broken in, I feel stiff in the arms and legs a little. Basically its not effortless swimming
Howard M
This suit would be way to thick for surfing. Maybe the 3mm might be decent.
Raul V
Is this suit as warm as a 6mm semi dry suit?"

Mid 50'sF with the hooded step-in vest. Totally comfortable for an hour diving to 40'. With booties and neoprene socks interleaved with the suit and seals I felt zero cold water entry.

Why Did You Choose This?
COLTIN C
Purchased this over the velocity because of the wrist and ankle seals 🤙🏻

My wife loved her bare wetsuit. So, i wanted similar quality for myself.

I have used one for the last two years in water as cold as 43 degrees and have been pleased with the durability, warmth, fit and the added features for cold water diving. It's time for a new one though!
JOSEPH H
Heard good feedback about this wetsuit ... plus, the price is right! Can't wait to try it out, I love Bare products.

This is a top notch suit, and at a $200 discount, a deal that couldn't be passed up.

I dive in fairly cold water (16- 20 C) year around. I have heard great diver reviews on the BARE 5 & 7 mm Reactive Suits. Did some research and it seems a very good diving suit.
