Comments about Bare Sports Bare 3 mm HD Tropic Boot:

I bought these booties to replace some lighter weight Neosports because my spring straps were slipping down at the heel and I felt a thicker sole might be the answer. It certainly was, with the added benefit of greater comfort and confidence on slick ladders, stepping onto and off of the gunwale of a boat, etc. I would buy these booties again and again. One caviat, and I almost hesitate to mention because I am very prone to blisters. However, the first time I wore these I was doing an underwater navigation certification which required a lot of finning. At the end of this session, i had a pretty good blister on the back of my heal caused by a seam that runs up the heal from the sole up to the pull-on tab. I doubt this would occur under normal diving conditions where constant finning is not the norm. However, there is a seam and a blister did occur. I fixed the problem by using water socks on subsequent dives and love the boots AND the socks. So, I'm very happy with this product in the end.

Run large, at least 1/2 size. Feel like they would come off to easy. A full size smaller would be to much. I wear a size 9 shoe and ordered a 9 per Dave's advice.

Comments about Bare Sports Bare 3 mm HD Tropic Boot:

Great Boot if your looking for a warm water boot that has a heavy bottom for walking of hard coral, like on Bonaire. The boot truly runs 1 - 1/2 sizes large. I went down a full size and its still a little too big.

Comments about Bare Sports Bare 3 mm HD Tropic Boot:

This tropic boot can serve as a warm water diving boot and a watersports shoe equally. The hardsole construction makes walking on any surface a breeze. The only reason it didn't get a perfect score is that they run about a half size too large for the indicated size. I wear an 11 hard shoe and an 11 1/2 tennis shoe and the size 11 was too big by about one half size. I'm keeping them because the size 10 would probably be a little small.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

          Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Douglas Y  Hard soles. No zipper
Shopper  What size would you recommend if I normally wear a women's size 8 or sometimes 7.5 depending on the shoe? The sizing chart seems confusing to me, so thought I'd double check.
ALRED P  I felt they were true to size, so I would get an 8
Haydn R  How are these boots supposed to fit? I just received pair and my toes are right at the end but they feel kinda loose every elsewhere. For example, the heel lifts up of the sole easily when walking. I'm afraid they'll come right off when I walk in the water. Is this how they are supposed to fit? (its not what I'm used to with other booties)
KAITLIN C  I'm a woman but wear a 12(wide) so I usually buy men's. They fit great lengthwise but are too wide for my feet. I think it may be how they were designed. My other sets are much tighter but not as sturdy as these.
