My wife and I had stainless folding knives on our bc's. .. even though they were SS they still developed rust from salt water. After each trip I would have to grind it off with a dremel.

I bought one of these for myself... On our last trip my wife's SS knife rusted so badly that it wouldn't open- but my Blue Reef titanium looked like new. Now we both have one!

For the price, the quality is extremely good. Compared to other titaniums, this knife is a bargain. It was actually cheaper than the now-ruined stainless knife.

This is an extremely sharp knife. Excellent price. Made with good quality parts. I have been diving many times with this knife and had no problems with it so far. The blade locks securely in place when opened. The supplied tether is a nice touch.

I do have a safety concern in that the very tip of the line cutter on the backside of the blade protrudes slightly above the housing when folded. The line cutter can can catch on or punture your BC if stored in a pocket. As a result they should have a custom built pouch for this knife to keep it secure and prevent injury or damage to your equipment when reaching for it. I am still looking for a pouch in which to cary this knife in and attach it to the outside of my BC. I have given it 2 stars only as a means to warn readers of this possibility.

I would give this knife five stars if not for issue of the line cutter, the cheap clip attached to the blade housing and the fact that you have to remove a glove to open it.

Removing the line cutter on the backside of the knife would be a great improvement since it is not really necessary. This knife will cut with the best of them.

Comments about Blue Reef Titanium Folding Knife:

Its a great light-weight knife, the blade will not rust ( you got to keep the edge clean after every use, and sharpened once in a while).

This is the second time I bought this, because is a great knife at a low price.

The grip is not the best but stil a very durable.

Hard to open with gloves, and the line cutter embedded on top of blade snags items in pocket if carried there with other items.

Comments about Blue Reef Titanium Folding Knife:

This is a good quality knife. I haven't been diving with it but I will in the spring time. I did take the advise from other reviewers and take a file to the top side of the knife to dull the sharp edge of the hook blade. I think if I didn't it would get caught on my BC or something else. Other than that it is light weight, VERY sharp and a good over all value.

Comments about Blue Reef Titanium Folding Knife:

I wanted something small to put on or in my BC and get the big clumsy thing off my leg. However, I hate the small grips on the BC style knives. This knife got me both. I put in into a nylon sheath and mounted the sheath to my BC. Better made than I expected for the price. The blade is titanium, which is a must for me. I don't know if the cross pin is, but it hasn't rusted yet. I wouldn't pry with this knife, but it seems durable and gets the job done.

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
ALAN C  Wonderful knife, folds neetly into BC pocket. Ti material has not showen any rust after 150 salt water dives. Very light weight.
Shopper  Is it easy to use with gloves? what kind of case can i use for this? why do you recomend folding knife? thanks
GARY H  It is easy to use with gloves. I tiie a larger object on to the end of the lanyard to make it easier to pull out of my BC pocket. No case is needed if you have a pocket for it to go into. The blade, even when folded into the handle, does have asharp point to it at the "hook" portion of the edge so you can get cut on it. Putting it into something would help in handling. I like this light, sharp, corrosion proof knife that fits into my OMS BC knife pocket.
