Excellent knife - very sharp and well designed. Having read several reviews about it falling out of the scabbard, an easy fix is to take a rubber 2-ringed snorkel keeper, put the flat part of the scabbard (near the handle) through one loop and the butt cap / top section of the grip through the other loop. This keeps the knife in place and allows for the knife to still be easily removed. Have made 4 dives with it so far in the few weeks that I've had it, wipe it down after each dive, and no issues with rust. For the price, you can't beat it.

Comments about Blue Reef 5" (12.7 cm) SS Knife, Blunt Tip:

This is a giod solid product. The stout, shaped handle fits the hand and offers a good feel even with gloves on. The holder retains the knife securely but releases easily when pushing in the locking mechanism. The blade is tough with many uses. I also like the balance of the knife with its weighted handle.

Can take completely apart for cleaning and oiling to prevent rust. Looks like it will be a good addition to my dive bag to replace a lost knife.

Good tool but it is too large for a female to use while diving. This is great for all other out of the water diving/boating uses. It is very sturdy but a bit heavy.

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Greg H  This knife will be mounted in the cockpit of my racing sailboat as a safety feature
Eric C  I bought one of this and the straps are too short to have it attached to my thigh. Should one attach this knife to the thigh or calf?
          MATTHEW F  On the calf.
Shopper  What are some good techniques to prevent the blade from rusting?
LeisurePro S  The best way to prevent rusting is to keep the blade oiled with some kind of oil (vegetable oil works okay, silicone grease even better). If you do end up with some rust, here is a whole forum discussing lots of removal techniques.
