Excellent Product

By Helga

I have used a wetsuit for the first time to protect me from scraping my skin during snorkeling; in addition, I freeze very easily. I snorkeled off Kaanapali in Maui, and the wetsuit was perfect. I did not have to overcome the initial "cold shock" in the water and was able to stay in the water much longer than without a suit. It is absolutely comfortable.

I would purchase this product again

Delivery was prompt.

The same qualities that make neoprene a great wetsuit material also make it a great choice for thinner skin style garments. At just 1mm thick, this full-length jumpsuit gives divers the stretch and comfort of a quality neoprene along with its natural insulating ability. Available in physique enhancing cuts for both men and women, it has a heavy-duty #10 YKK back-zipper closure with pull tab leash for easy self-donning. Excellent as a warm water garment, the Neo Skin is also well suited to layering under thicker suits.

Neo Skin is an ultra-thin 1mm nylon 2 neoprene jumpsuit that offers the best of both worlds: the warmth and durability of a full wetsuit combined with the comfort and flexibility of a dive skin. All seams are flat-lock stitched for comfort and spot taped at intersecting seams for durability. Suit comes with spandex trimmed wrist and ankle seals and thermal bonded kneepads. An anatomical cut pattern, for a comfortable fit, internal key pocket, round out the outstanding features of the NeoSport 1mm Neo Skin Jumpsuit. Suit also has a hook and loop collar fastener that inhibits water exchange at neck and provides a custom fit. Suit is black in color, is available in multiple sizes, and has a tear away size tag for easy ID.

Q&A

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  how hard is it to put on back zip?
FOREST Y  I have swimmer's itch, so I have to have my whole body covered when I get in oceans or lake water. It worked fine for me.
Jon S  I have a front zipper and use it every day, super comfortable and easy to put on and take off. Enjoy
WILLIAM R  I bought the wetsuit for my daughter who is 5’ -1” and she has absolutely no problems, once you get your hands back and reach for that strap she pulls it up all the time by her self. obviously anything would be easier with another person but has been a good suit for her so far.
SUSAN C  Not hard at all. All my wet suits are zip back.
Wynne S  Does this product protect warmth at 73 degrees or do I need to consider a higher mm?
Leslie G  I think I returned this item. As a rule, I would definitely need something thicker than a 1 mm. I get cold easily. I sometimes double up. I'd wear at least a 5mm, but may even wear a 7mm. I like the thin skins to put on first. They help the thicker wet suits go on. Have a great time diving.
THOMAS H  No. This is the equivalent of a skin or 1mil. it is a lite barrier primarily for warm water 80 degrees +
DEBORAH T  You might want to consider a bit higher mm wetsuit.
PAUL D  1 mm gives some temp protection for shorter active snorkels (as well as sun shield), BUT a leisurely scuba at depth will probably need a bit more (use 2-3mm)...good luck!
MARILYN W  I would go to a 3 mm or higher. I found this not warm enough in 78 degree water.
JOHN D  Everyone tolerates the cold differently, but I would say no. For me, 1mm is for tropical warm water only. For 73 degree water, I would probably not use less than 5mm personally.
Clarissa H  I just received the Neosport 1mm womens skin that i ordered (super fast delivery to my home in Denmark!) but the size 14 i ordered is not a great fit. large over hips and thighs - an amount of extra fabric hanging loose around the hip/lower stomach area, as though the legs are too long. Am wondering if i should order a size smaller for comparison purposes, or would you recommend another brand?
YAN G  Tough to say. You should probably try a different brand. Maybe Henderson Microprene: http://www.leisurepro.com/p-hndm2jw/henderson-microprene-2-womens-15-mm-jumpsuit
emily h  6'1" and about 180lbs, will this fit me? Going by the size chart it would be fine for height but I'm 20lbs over the weight. To be clear I am very proportionate in my height and weight. Also my torso/leg ratio is pretty even.. I've tried on a 'womens' wesuit before which ended in me having a terrible wedgie and being choked out with the zipper up due to the torso area being too short..
CAROL S  I recently bought this wetsuit in a 1mm size, size 10 because I had lost weight and now weigh 137 and am 5'6"tall with 40 inch hips (my Slovak heritage). I thought it was a little tight length-wise, but then wore it with a 5mm vest over it and was comfortable for over 30 dives. Personally, I think it might be too tight for you. My other wetsuits ( 3 and 5 mil) are BARE because I bought the 12 plus size since I then weighed 160 pounds. They were very comfortable and sized for a woman's body--not a teenager's. Good luck.
JOHN M  I'm 5'4 and 155lbs, I bought a size 10 and it's a little big on me but goes on very easily and is really comfortable.
BOB F  I believe so.
JULIE K  I am5'6" and 135 and bought the 8. It is a odd fitting suit cut short through stride and the sleeves too short. No seals so water flows through. I would not recommend it... It sits in my closet and I will wear my lava core vest for extra warmth under wetsuit instead.
DONNA F  Emily I am 5' 5" and weigh 215 pounds. The suit covered all that and was long on legs and arms. threfore, it should fit you well. This site has good return policy. I love the lightness of the one mm, because I primarily dive in warm water.
PAT S  I remember the suits were very stretchy. I ordered 2 sizes and sent one back...without extra charge. I am short so the size that fit me has lots of room in the lenght of legs but that's not a problem.
Shopper  Is this to be worn alone or under your wetsuit?
Steve S  You can use it for both. You can use it as a thin skin for snorkeling or diving in warm waters or you can use it under another wetsuit for added thermal protection.
MARSHA M  It depends on where you are diving and the temperature of water. For cold water destinations, it can be used underneath 7 mil wetsuits for tad bit more warmth and easier suiting up. In warm water destinations where the temperature is 82 - 84 degrees, I have worn this suit alone as I just wanted protection from the elements and did not get cold over the course of the trip. If prone to getting cold in warm water destinations due to repetitive diving, you can wear this underneath 3 mil wetsuit for just a bit more warmth and to protect your legs and arms if you are wearing a 3 mil shorty.
JAMES J  Generally, alone, or under a shorty. Of course, you can layer it under anything, but the outer material is not slick like a lycra skin, so you might have some difficulty pulling on a full wetsuit (arms and legs).
MELINDA M  Alone
ANN H  It would be a little thick to wear under a wetsuit if your wetsuit fit snug. I bought to use as a skin just to have full coverage underwater with a little insulation. Luv this wetsuit.
LISA A  Either way. Depends on water temp and how cold you get.
CYNTHIA C  No. Put wet suit on nude. PC
JOHN M  My daughter wears this alone for diving in Mexico and the Flower Gardens. She likes it better than the 3 mil wetsuit that she used to wear.
MELANIE M  You can do either or! I tend to dive in warm climates and love to wear only this for protection against abrasives or stings. But if it's cold, you can wear under a wet suit or under a shorty for added warmth.
MARC S  You can do either. My daughter wore it under her wetsuit for a bit of additional warmth, but it can also be worn on its own.
DAVID S P  Yes, my wife wears it in the Caribbean as a rash guard and loves it. It can also be used as a first layer under a normal wet suit in colder water.
