Comments about Bigblue AL350N 350 Lumens LED Light:

This is a great light! It is really small, but it packs a big punch! The entire light is about the size of 2x D batteries.

I like the throw/ beam pattern. The beam has three distinct brightness areas. The center is a very narrow hot spot which penetrates quite far, even in murky water. This works well for signaling "ok" ect.. The intermediate hot spot is about 70% as bright as the center. The widest light cone is about 15% the brightness of the hot spot, and gives you good peripheral vision, so you dont bump into things. The 350 lumen rating seems accurate as this light is noticeably brighter than my 200 lumen lights. (Note that there are two versions of this light, and I have the narrow / 8 degree beam angle one)

The twist on/ twist off switch is really smooth, and prevents the light from turning on accidentally. (This is one reason I'm replacing my Oceanic ARC 250. It always turned on in my dive bag, and drained the batteries.) It also takes a fair number of twists to remove the light head. This reduces the risk of flooding the light by unscrewing it too far underwater. The overall build quality is rock solid.

My only complaint is that I wish I had the option to use 1x CR123 battery instead of 3x AAA's.

Bottom line: you wont find a better light for this price.

I'm a Rescue Diver with 150+ dives. I dive mostly shipwrecks and springs/ caverns in south Florida. I use this light as a primary for spring/ cavern dives, and carry a 200 lumen light as a back up.

Comments about Bigblue AL350N 350 Lumens LED Light:

Light looks, feels, and works awesome out of the water. In the water it's bordering on unusable. I literally can put my hand in front of the light 5 inches away and cannot see the light where my dive buddies light shines brightly 15 ft through low visibility, his is a $100 light or less too. Pretty disappointed and it's most likely a paper weight from here on unless I can return.
