This is a great regulator. I love it. The only thing to consider is that if you ever think you might decided to use a high pressure tank (and you probably will) get the DIN valve on the first stage and buy a yoke converter. I switched mine useing a DIN converter kit, which was easy enough, but taking that off and putting a yoke back on requires having the right tools and ideally you don't want to do it too often. However, attaching a yoke converter to a DIN valve is easier. You can put it on ...and take it off with no tools if you need to. For a few extra dollars I think it's worth haveing the flexibility and convenience.
excellent. perfect for me especially since I have given up on cold water! (getting older)
The Atomic Aquatics Z3 is a compact and budget-friendly regulator that outshines even the most expensive competitors. Based on the B1/T1 platform, it offers the same performance and patented features as the Z2, plus some extras. Its balanced flow-thru piston design uses a high-flow stainless steel piston and a self-lubricating high-pressure piston seal for low maintenance. The unique jet seat system prevents seat damage over time, and the precision-machined valve seats enable a 2-year or 300-dive service interval. The Z3 excels in diving performance even at low tank pressures.
Freeze-protected and factory-sealed, the Z3's first stage prevents silt and sand contamination. It's Nitrox-ready up to 40% and features 2 high-pressure and 7 low-pressure ports.
The Z Series second stage boasts a balanced linear flow design for effortless breathing at all depths and conditions. Built to last, it features a Zirconium plated brass demand valve body, titanium lever, sealing orifice, and high-quality silicone rubber diaphragm. The patented seat-saving dynamic orifice extends the life of the second-stage poppet seat when not pressurized.
The Z series second stage is equipped with Atomic's patented automatic flow control (AFC) for optimal breathing resistance. A soft over-molded rapid adjustment knob is available for special situations. The titanium comfort swivel eliminates the "pulling effect" when turning your head underwater, allowing 30 Degree rotational movement without binding or kinking.
The Z3 offers a high-flow second stage case, magnum lever design, dual material second stage cover for easy purging, and a dual silicone comfort fit mouthpiece. It comes with a 3/8" threaded 32" low-pressure hose, weighs 2.6 lbs., and includes an owner's manual. Experience the exceptional performance and value of the Atomic Aquatics Z3.
This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

What are the differences of the Z3 and the B2 Stage 1? I was told they are the same exact part, looking to confirm.
JOE S
The B2 has a swiveling 5 port cap for the LP hoses. The Z3 does not have the swivel component.

This is open box that is all meaning never used except display ??? Also environmentally sealed? Im am thinking it is worth the extra money to get it sealed?
KEVIN F
It's a store display model that does not have the box anymore. Never used. Not environmentally sealed.
Get environmentally sealed only if you plan on diving icy waters or if you plan on diving very dirty or contaminated waters.
Daniel R
Not worth the extra money if you will be diving warm water.
IF you plan to do cold water and warm water then would prefer sealed.

It takes a lot to screw up an Atomic...
I'm a professional working MSDT who Dives everyday all year round in Hawaii.
It's a great Reg, but if you don't dive as much as I do or even 100 times a year - it's way too much for the average recreational diver.
That being said - I have 2 Atomics and I love everything about them.
RANDALL M
is this regulator ready to go out of the box, or do I need to have it "set up"?
Also which Seacure mouthpiece works on this regulator?
JEFF C
This Atomic Reg is NOT ready to use out of the box! As are most!
Remember when you buy a 1st stage alone or with a 2nd stage along with it you're still missing 3 important things to dive safety. There's no SPG console(High Pressure) included. There's NO alternate air(Octopus 2nd Stage and there's is NO power inflator hose(Low Pressure!)
As a certified diver you should hand all these things and then some.
As far as mouthpiece's are concerned that's just a matter of preference - this 2nd stage primary unites with almost all mouthpieces. So that's just a matter of "feel" or "comfort." I'm a working dive professional who does 4-6 repetitive dives a day - sometimes 7 days a week so, I prefer something strong and rigid.
That's up to you.
This is is a Top of the Line Regulator! I would tell the average recreational scuba diver that it's a bit much for 3-5 dives a month, but if it's quality you want & money you have - this is as good as I think it gets. Maintaining it with care and proper storage is everything!
I hope this helped...
Dive safe & Dive Smart!
Aloha,
Jeff

Hi Jeff -
Yes I understand I need to add my Alt, Inflator and SPG...just wanted to make sure that I don't need to have this rig serviced before using.
Definitely always want to dive safe!!
Thanks

You would have to connect the hoses. A small adjustable wrench and some silicon lube will get the job done. Never used a Seacure mouthpiece, so I can't comment on that. This is a great product by the way. I have used it in both cold and warm waters for many years and never had an issue.

Check out the regulator size chart on the Seacure custom mouthpiece website.

Yes, out of the box and good to go. Great regulator.
Not 100% certain, but different mouthpiece should be no problem.
Make sure to position vinyl tie wrap correctly.
I have great comfort in using the mouthpiece sold as is.......why replace?

Does the Z3 for $529.95 come with a sealed first stage?
