About Atomic Venom Mask, Black Skirt

Atomic Aquatics Venom Mask is a blending of Atomics SubFrame and Frameless Masks. It has a reinforcing internal frame that's molded directly beneath the surface of the silicone rubber skirt, like on the Subframe, yet it offers the relatively low profile of the Frameless. A single window like the Atomic Frameless, but it has a high bridge and tear-drop shape similar to the SubFrame's dual-window design. Its easy-to-use squeeze-to-adjust buckles are soft-mounted to the mask skirt, which allows flexibility in strap positioning, plus they can be folded flat for packing.

Where the Venom differs from its SubFrame and Frameless cousins is in its lens construction. While the SubFrame and Frameless lenses use Ultraclear glass, which has a reputation for optical quality in its own right, on the Venom mask Atomic uses an even higher-quality glass imported from Germany. Called Schott Superwhite glass, it allows more light to penetrate than even Ultraclear glass.

As with all Atomic Aquatic Masks the Venom has a double feathered edge silicone rubber skirt with a wide split strap design, which in combination, afford an excellent fit and seal on the face. A one-handed nose well for easy ear equalization brings the lens of the mask closer to the diver's face further increasing the field of vision. The Venom comes with a mask box has a limited lifetime warranty on the frame and a 12 month limited warranty on the buckles and mask skirt.

This mask is very comfortable, the visual field is perfect

Nose pocket not accessible

The delivery was very fast considering I live in Dubai.

Love It

The lens on this mask is amazing. I shoot video, and I sometimes found it hard to tell if I was focused well on tiny critters. I can see much better now, and it is hard to imagine using anything else now. I had a little trouble with it fogging at first, despite cleaning it with toothpaste, etc. I was also worried that it was too leaky. But after awhile I realized that the leaks were because I was smiling because I could see stuff better. After a few dives, it was fine.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
TODD K  Great Field of view.
Claire F  Does the glass on this mask screen out all UVA/B light?
LEWIS A  Yes this mask does screen out UVA/B light. However I had to quit using mine due to the fact that the black skirting caused me to have tunnel vision, as I am used to a clear frame.
JAMES R  Not sure about the UVA/B question, but I enjoy this mask immensely.
WILLIAM V E  I don't know, but I do know that this is the most clear mask that my wife or I have ever used.
THOMAS T  It certainly appears to do so; hard to tell for sure - I love the mask; best one I have ever had and I have used over a dozen in 25 years
Gary D  Is this available with corrective lenses?
Maverick K  unfortunately not, I wear contacts and love this mask but bought it without asking the same question as you, I called Atomics to see if the venom was corrective lens compatible and they told me no, I would try Mares or Oceanic and know that they both offer corrective lens, hope this helps.
Scott M  Don't know. But I like this mask. Diving maui yesterday and today. Very happy with it. Check the website.
CHAD A  Not sure. Mine does not.
TODD K  For most single glass masks, you need to have the corrective lens added. There are several companies that can do this. Basically they glue on corrections lens onto the inside glass plate. It works very well but does add to the cost.
Monica s  No it is not.
