Good belt until accidental release

By

I loved this belt because it was inexpensive but a rubber belt. Being rubber, it gripped onto my waist (or lack there of) really well, even at depth. The main downfall is bail. I was spearfishing and my stringer got under the bail since it sticks out so far without me realizing it. I was subduing a fish when the current pulled me and my stringer dragged on a large rock. It flipped the bail and dropped my belt. I couldn't stay down due to my 7mm wetsuit. I dumped the air in my BC and exhaled. Fortunately, I put some of my weight in my BC and was able to safely ascend. Be cautious when using this belt and make sure to keep everything away from the bail when in use.

Fell Off !!!

I like the rubber strap it's very comfortable, but the latch is no good. The buckle is very finicky "easy to unlatch by mistake" Not Good with 25lb in it and wearing a 7mm wet suit!

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  How do you lace the belt through the fixed side not the buckle side?
LETICIA L  There are three bars on the buckle, belt passes under the first, even above the third, turn around and you pass above the second bar below the first pass. fits with the belt loose .
Shopper  How wide is the belt?
BOB C  YES AND THE BELT IS 2'' WIDE BOB
MICHAEL G  same width as a standard webed belt.
WILLIAM S  The belt is 2" wide.
Steve S  This belt is approximate 2 inches wide and 1/8-inch thick.
Shopper  What is the thickness? I need 1/8"
WILLIAM S  This belt is 1/8" thick.
RYAN H  It is approximately 1/8" thick. For weights with a narrow slot, you can force one corner through then pull it the rest of the way using a pair of pliers. I've had great luck with these belts, they are especially nice when diving a dry suit with a lot of insulation.
TASSOS A  I think it is about 1/8". I bought it and never used it because the rubber does not stretch alot and it is not soft rubber.
