Great product!

By IGNACIO A.

 -  Seattle, WA, US

I have owned my QuickDraw for over 10 years. Initially used it wi a 13cf and then moved it to a 19cf. The product is solid, good quality, and there is little to no play once mounted. As the title notes easy to mount and release the pony tank. This is supper useful when setting up and taking down your gear. The mount has taken a beating over the years and is still going strong. This is one piece of gear that has exceeded my expectation.

Great mount

By BRETT K.

I love this mount. It?s sturdy and easy to mount and dismount my pony bottle. Worth the extra money!

These Pony Bottle Holder Kits are some of the best made all aluminum and stainless-steel construction with no hose clamps to break or puncture your B.C.D. Changes with just the pull of one pin. The bracket slips easily under divers BCD tank band or any 2" (5.1cm) webbing strap. Tanks change easily - no tools needed. Bottles can be swapped in seconds. Hand-off your pony bottle to your dive buddy in seconds, underwater. Quick draw easy mount is a patented design.

Questions about this item:

Katharine L  I have this system and love it.  Several of my students have lost a pin here and there.  Where can I find replacment pins??
darrick c  Hello Katharine, you can find the replacement pin at: https://www.scuba.com/p-aquta38/clevis-pin-for-quick-draw-easy-mount-pony-bottle-holders.
CLIFF H  How does this affect buoyancy? Seems like it might add weight to one side?
BRUCE B  Your buoyancy is going to much more effected by the pony tank the bracket holds. Bracket is light aluminum and the weight is negligible
BRYAN F  For me i had to offset the pony bottle with a 3 lbs. weight. I used a velcro trim pocket weight holder and slid it on to my tank’s cam bands. Works perfectly. All trim in check. Bryan
CHRIS S  Primarily, you’ll want to know the negative bouyancy of your full pony bottle from the manufacturer or retailer. My Al13 is about 2 pounds negative when full of air, so I put a 2 lb trim weight on my back on the opposite side to balance out.
CLIFF H  Thanks. I do know the negative buoyancy of my pony. I wondered about the mount itself. If its all aluminum I assume not much but if there's too much stainless steel it may make a difference.
CHRIS S  It is all Al. The only steel is the pins and the cable. It’s negligible.
WAYNE H  Does add weight to one side. With the 13 or 19 cuff tank I add 2 lbs at top pocket of my bcd on opposite side to the tank. Surpriseingly I had to add 4 lbs opposite with the 30 cuff tank with mount, 2 in top and 2 lbs in bottom pocket.
Shopper  Does it fit on a 30 cf pony tank?
Dallas P  If same diameter as 40cf pony tank, yes. I have 40cf pony tank (Luxfer). It fits.
LEWIS H  There is one for a 30cf cylinder.
GREGORY S  I have one and currently use it on a 19 cu ft luxfur pony bottle. I'm not sure if that will work on a 30 it would really depend on the diameter. The device works very well and is easy to use. Hope that helps.
RONALD S  Yes it does. I have a 30. Measure your tank diameter and what the bracket dimensions say. Should be the same.
Carl S  My husband purchased. He is out of the country. I have no idea if it fits or not. Sorry I cannot help you with your question. I think he used for a 30, but I am not sure. Whatever he used it for it worked well.
ORLANDO V  Thank you
Daniel K  Will it fit on a 8inch primary tank like a steel HP117, or is it just for 7.25 tanks?
Joe J  Yes, this fits my steel 8 inch Fabor-95
MICHAEL R  The main bracket fits on the pony, a 19 or 13 cubic foot tank, then your strap goes through the other part holding it to your main tank. It will fit 8" or 7-1/4" .
STEFAN S  This mount is only for the small, "pony" sized tanks; 13 or 19 cubic footers. Works GREAT though.
LARRY C  The model that I have (QD-200002) will not accomodate a HP117 (hoop is too small). You could check with the manufacturer to see if there is another model that could work for your application, Leisure Pro should be able to get it if available. You can also check in tech gear for the strap/clamp/suicide clip options that are also used in staging/bailout applications.
ROBERT K  I would say yes. I"ve never tried it but the band is adjustable.
ARLEN Z  Size of primary tank is irrelevant. Quick Draw pony mount attaches to your BCD tank band. It becomes part of your BCD assembly. When you switch to a different primary tank the mount goes along with your BCD . You can remove pony bottle from mount for ease of transfer then pop it back on. Thus, the name Quick Draw.
CHRISTOPHER T  It mounts to primary tank by running band through it. I have mine on a steel LP 130.. the band that attaches the pony bottle is 2 Allen head screws
Shopper  How does the clamp tighten up around the pony bottle? Is there a bolt on the other side? I'm only seeing one side of the mount.
Dallas P  There should be 2 hex screws. Loosen the screws enough so the tank can slide through the opening. Adjust as necessary then you can tighten the 2 hex screws to secure tank. Hope this helps
Shawn W  There are two allen head bolts that allow the clamp to be tightened around the pony bottle. This mount works great!
MICHAEL R  The aluminum ring has two bolts that tighten it to the pony tank, the piece you see with the two pins and rings attaches tomyour BCD tank band. This by far is the best mounting system for a pony tank I have found. Just be sure you get the right size for the correct size pony bottle you have.
Joe J  The loop you see in the picture goes over/around the pony bottle. There is a split in the ring, close to the bracket, which is pulled together/closed with an Allen screw. The bracket is held to the main tank by putting your tank strap though the bracket. You only put the ring on your pony bottle once and you leave the rest of the bracket on your BC-tank strap all the time. When you are ready to dive, the pony take hooks to the bracket with a quick disconnect pin. I find this bracket very easy to use.
Kenneth M  The mount is held by the tension on the strap. It WILL NOT move! I'm somewhat OCD, so I added an additional strap for only the pony mount. It's probably not necessary, but it makes me feel more secure. I've had a couple of different pony mounts over the years but this one is by far, the best.
Hans-Eirik H  There is two(2) hex head bolts that tighten the band to the pony bottle.
KEN D  Allen head bolts on the thick side of the clamp. Make sure you lubricate the threads because they will collect corrosion over time even though they are stainless. Great clamp and will not loosen up
Harvey F  Mine is not home right now, but I think it has a recessed allen screw to clamp the bottle. In any case, this is an extremely secure and rugged mounting system.
Kevin H  There are two bolts that tighten the clamp around the tank.
LEWIS H  Two hex head screw hold tank to mount. This is the best pony mount out there in my opinion.
SEAN B  Yes, there is a bolt that secures the clamp to the bottle
Peter F  Yes there are two recessed bolts that can be turned with an Allen wrench that are on the other side of the bracket. By the way, this is one of my favorite pieces of gear. So easy to use.
